Introducing the Heritage Litter!

At 3.5 weeks old (25 days), these little Kelpies are thriving, full of vigor, and already showing off their big personalities. They've officially graduated to the big-kid menu—tackling cut-up whole chooks alongside their tinned food, kibble, yogurt, and fresh farm eggs. With our chickens and ducks laying like crazy right now, the whole team is reaping the rewards!

Here is a look at the crew and the early traits starting to shine through:

Buster (Red Collar – Male): Our tough little trooper. After an early scrape, he hasn't missed a beat—he’s bold and scrappy.

George (Blue Collar – Male): Named after his champion grandfather, George is a funny little fellow who is already looking up at us.

Hope (Hot Pink Collar – Female): Bright, spunky, and curious, she’s usually the ringleader in escaping the whelping box and starting a new sleep pile somewhere else in the meat safe.

Tess (White Collar – Female): Born with big, bold tan like her father, Tess was one of the first to get her eyes wide open. She's definitely a favourite with all of us.

Dottie (Yellow Collar – Female): Upfront and bold. She greets you with a bark and tail wag. Loves her food and trying new things (attempted cosmetics today by coating her leg in yoghurt).

Biddy (Light Pink Collar – Female): Takes her time and does things on her own terms. Our "little biddy" who looks a lot like her grandmother, old Pearl.

They are growing by the day, learning to use their legs, and keeping us on our toes. Stay tuned as these little legends keep developing!

How are they 3 weeks and 3 days old already?! 🥺

Keeping warm on this drizzly day with some softened biscuits under their tinned food. The feeding routine is going great, minus the two rebels who decided Mum’s plate looked much better! 🐾

Tough day on the job today—working cattle comes with its risks, and poor Archie copped a nasty paw injury this morning.

Initial Inspection (9:30 AM)

When Callum brought him in, he was in a lot of pain and shaking. The main pad took a severe raw tear, alongside active bleeding and swelling right through the digits.

Immediate Treatment: Administered TuffRock Bute by Nature and electrolytes straight away to help manage pain, inflammation, and shock.
Topical Care: Applied TuffRock Poultice (Mud) to the paw. This helped pull heat out of the injury, reduce initial swelling, draw out any dirt from the scrub, and provide cooling relief.

Afternoon Check & Re-dress (4:00 PM)
By late afternoon, the bleeding had completely stopped, giving us a clean look at the torn pad and surrounding tissue.
Follow-up Dose: Got another dose of TuffRock Bute into him (disguised in a bit of tinned food).
Wound Dressing: Applied a generous layer of White Healer ointment over the exposed pad to protect the tissue and promote healing.
Protection & Warmth: Secured the paw with a soft sock and vet wrap to keep the cream in place and keep dust out. We also popped his PJs back on—if he’s too sore to jump onto his platform or curl up tight in his tire, keeping him warm means his body doesn't have to waste energy on thermal regulation and can focus entirely on healing.

The whole foot remains quite swollen and he’s still feeling the soreness, but he’s rugged up, resting comfortably, and getting the best care possible. Time to let the rest and treatments do their job.

TuffRock Australia just amazing products to have on hand for accidents and first aid.
Lilcracka Pet Supplies warm, durable coats that looks great and are practical for their purpose.

Just shy of 3 weeks old (born July 29th) and officially on solid food! 🥩🥛🥚

For their first meal, we served up tinned dog food topped with Greek yogurt, egg yolks and Tuffrock's SuperTuff and they couldn't get enough.

We’re starting to plan out names for this group and want to focus on classic legacy names—the timeless ones you see running through legendary Kelpie studs and pedigree lines everywhere (the Tess's and Pearl's of the world).

Got a favorite staple name from old working lines or your own pack? We’d love to hear your suggestions!
