Some days in veterinary medicine are incredibly rewarding.
Some days are heartbreaking.
Most days are both.
So when we found out that our community had voted for us in the Local Business Awards, we honestly had to stop for a moment. We felt humbled. Grateful. A little emotional, if we’re being honest.
To every single person who voted for Brisbane Water Veterinary Hospital… thank you.
You may have only spent a minute casting a vote, but to our team it means the world.
We’re a small, independently owned veterinary hospital. Every consultation, every surgery, every late-night worry, every difficult conversation and every life we have the privilege of caring for matters deeply to us. This profession asks a lot of the people in it, and our team continue to show up with compassion, empathy and heart, even on the days that are incredibly hard.
One of the biggest reasons this recognition means so much is because of Sophie’s legacy.
She reminds us every single day why kindness has to come first. Why looking after each other matters. Why creating a workplace where our team feel supported, respected and safe is just as important as providing exceptional veterinary care.
Everything we are trying to build has been shaped by that legacy.
We don’t always get everything perfect, but we promise we’ll never stop trying to be better, for our patients, for their families, and for the incredible people who work beside us every day.
To our clients who trust us with your beloved pets, who recommend us to your friends, who show us grace on the difficult days and celebrate the wins with us… thank you.

This nomination doesn’t belong to one person. It belongs to every nurse who stayed back to comfort a patient, every veterinarian who lost sleep worrying about a case, every receptionist who held someone’s hand through heartbreaking news, and every member of our community who has chosen to support a small local business.
