🥥 Coconut now vs Coconut when we first brought him home as a foster 🥹❤️
Coconut was my very last foster from the shelter before I left the job, and what a journey this little boy has had!
He was purchased from a breeder together with another male (we were told he was his brother), and they lived in a hutch. When they were surrendered, they were still living together and fighting. Unfortunately, Coconut was always the loser and ended up getting beaten up. 💔
He wasn’t even on my foster list! I used to spend my lunch breaks hanging out with the buns and pigs in other departments at work. One day, I saw him still housed with the other male, and right in front of my eyes, he got bitten. I was told they were “just playing.” 🤪
Then this little boy gave me a kiss. 🥹❤️ The ONLY kiss I’ve ever received this 🥥 ! And that was it… my heart was gone. I applied to foster him while he waited to be desexed and recovered from all his wounds.
But Coconut’s story didn’t stop there. While he was with us, he developed EC (Encephalitozoon cuniculi) and, once again, found himself on the list to be put down. 🙅♀️🫠
Thankfully, The Rabbit Sanctuary and one lovely admin helped us save this little boy, because we weren’t planning to adopt another bunny at the time and just fostering.
And well… you all know how that turned out. 🤣🤣
The foster who was supposed to be temporary became a permanent family member, and now he’s our CEO Coconut 🥥👑
From a little boy who was bullied, injured and nearly lost his chance at life, to the cheeky CEO who now runs the household… look at him today! 🥹❤️
Sometimes, you don’t plan to adopt. Sometimes, all it takes is one little kiss. 😘🐰
