🌿 It’s all starting to come together! 🐾

Fresh grass has now been laid in our new dog park area, and the grooming room is coming along beautifully too! 💚

Next on the list is the fencing, and then we’ll be giving our lovely new turf some time to establish before the play equipment and any little paws are allowed out to explore. 🐶🌱

We can’t wait to see our dogs and puppies enjoying this beautiful new space once it’s ready!

🐾 Six little Havoodles, one bowl and absolutely no table manners! 😂💕

Our beautiful Havoodle puppies are growing up so quickly, and mealtimes are definitely one of their favourite parts of the day!

A Havoodle (Havanese × Poodle) combines two gorgeous companion breeds, known for their affectionate, people-focused personalities and beautiful fluffy coats.

At Belbon Oodles, our puppies are raised in our home and introduced to new sights, sounds, textures and everyday experiences as they grow — helping prepare them for life with their future families. 🏡🐶

And judging by this photo… sharing a meal with their siblings is one experience they've mastered! 🥰

A couple of these little cuties are still 👀 for there 🏠

What is a Havoodle? 🐾

It’s the cutest combination of the Havanese—affectionately known as the clowns of the dog world—and the clever, quick-learning Poodle.

The result? A playful, affectionate and intelligent little companion with plenty of personality and love to give. 🤍

🔬 What do breeders need to know about stud-dog semen health?

A semen assessment looks at three main things:

🐾 Are there enough s***m?
🐾 Are they moving properly?
🐾 Are they formed normally?

Even a proven stud dog’s semen quality can change, so checking it helps breeders make informed decisions before mating.

It’s another important part of responsible breeding—because healthy breeding starts with knowledge. 🧬

🥣 Our Havoodle puppies have enjoyed their very first taste of food—and judging by those adorable, messy little faces, it was a big success! 😋🐾

Ming and Fabio’s beautiful Havoodle puppies are growing quickly and becoming more curious and confident every day. Havoodles are a gorgeous Havanese–Poodle cross, loved for their affectionate personalities, intelligence and soft, fluffy coats.

Another special puppy milestone for these little ones here at Belbon Oodles. 🤎

Every breed started somewhere. 🤎

Here’s a little piece of Cavalier history worth remembering.

In 1926, American Roswell Eldridge offered a £25 prize at Crufts to breeders who could produce a toy spaniel resembling those seen in paintings from the time of King Charles II — with a longer muzzle and flatter skull than the King Charles Spaniels being shown at the time.

People thought the idea was pretty ridiculous.

But breeders took up the challenge.

In 1928, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club was formed and a breed standard began to take shape. Yet the Cavalier wasn’t formally recognised by The Kennel Club as a separate breed until 1945.

The breed we now fiercely protect as “the correct Cavalier” was itself once a developing type.

The same is worth remembering when we talk about colour.

Today, different kennel clubs and registries decide which colours they recognise within their standards. Those standards absolutely matter — particularly within the show world — but recognition by an organisation and the genetics that can exist within a breed aren’t necessarily the same thing.

Blenheim, Tricolour, Ruby and Black & Tan are the four traditionally recognised Cavalier colours today.

None of this means we should breed without purpose, disregard breed type or compromise health.

Quite the opposite.

Development should be thoughtful, transparent and informed.

Dog breeds didn’t simply appear one day with a completed breed standard attached to them. People developed them. Traits were selected. Breed clubs formed. Standards were written. Registries recognised them.

So when we see breeders exploring something outside what we’re accustomed to — whether that’s colour, type or genetic diversity — perhaps the first response doesn’t always need to be outrage.

Ask questions. Look at the genetics. Look at health, welfare, purpose and transparency.

Because everything we now consider established had to start somewhere.

Even the Cavalier. 🤎

✨ PLOT TWIST! ✨

We had carefully made plans for Beth’s final litter… but Georgie Porgie apparently had plans of his own! 😂

Our cheeky George managed to sneak in and decided that he wanted to be Beth’s retirement-litter partner.

So, with a little unexpected change of direction, we are introducing:

🌿 BETH × GEORGIE PORGIE 🌿

This beautiful pairing may be expecting a litter of Cavoodle puppies here at Belbon Oodles in Scenic Rim, Queensland.

Based on their combined DNA results, their puppies may inherit:

🐾 25% straight, 50% wavy and 25% curly coats
🐾 75% furnished teddy-bear faces
🐾 25% possibility of an unfurnished or smoother face
🐾 Deep red, gold, apricot or black colouring
🐾 Solid coats, smaller white markings or parti patterns

There are six possible colour-and-pattern combinations shown in our carousel.

Of course, these are DNA-based possibilities—not guarantees. Mother Nature will have the final say, and first we wait to see whether Georgie’s cheeky little plan has been successful! 🤎

This will be Beth’s very special final litter before she officially retires from our Cavoodle breeding program.
Our Cavoodle puppy waitlist is now open, and expressions of interest are welcome. We can assist families throughout Queensland and arrange puppy transport Australia-wide. 🌿
