Today is Veterinary Nurse Day ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™
Behind every patient who wakes up safely, every worried owner who feels reassured, every successful surgery and every animal who gets a little bit better in hospital, is an incredible veterinary nurse.
Our nurses are the ones holding the paws, monitoring the anaesthetics, placing the catheters, cleaning up the mess, answering the questions, comforting the scared patients and somehow keeping everything moving when the clinic is chaos.
We couldn't do what we do without you.
Thank you to our amazing Team Leroy nursing teamโ€”we appreciate you more than you know. ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

Leave our legendary team of nurses some comments below for us to share and celebrate with them today.

Hugoโ€™s results are in! ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ’™

We recently shared Hugoโ€™s story after a small lump was discovered and surgically removed. His sample was sent to the external laboratory for histopathology, and the results have now confirmed that the lump was a mast cell tumour.

Mast cell tumours are a type of cancer that can behave aggressively, which is why investigating even small or innocent-looking lumps is so important. ๐Ÿ”ฌ

But we have some fantastic news for Hugo! ๐ŸŽ‰ His tumour was completely excised with clear margins, meaning all of the tumour was successfully removed and it is not expected to regrow at that site. ๐Ÿ’™

Hugo is recovering beautifully at home, and we couldnโ€™t be happier with his result! ๐Ÿฅฐ

His story is the perfect reminder: if you find a lump, get it checked. Early investigation can make all the difference.

Hugoโ€™s lump-date update! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™

You may remember sweet Hugo, who recently visited us after his family discovered a small lump. An FNA revealed some unusual round cells, so the safest next step was to remove the lump and send it away for further testing.

Hugo returned this week for his surgery and was an absolute superstar! ๐ŸŒŸ The lump was successfully removed, and it has now been sent to the external laboratory for histopathology. This will tell us exactly what type of cells weโ€™re dealing with and whether the lump has been completely excised.

For now, Hugo is recovering comfortably with plenty of TLC. ๐Ÿฅฐ

His story is another great reminder that no lump is too small to check. Finding and investigating changes early can give us more options and the best chance of a positive outcome. ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฉบ

Weโ€™ll keep you posted on Hugoโ€™s results! ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ” Small lump, important discovery!

Sweet Hugo recently visited us after his owners noticed a small lump and decided to have it checked. Hugo was an absolute superstar while our team collected a fine needle aspirate (FNA) sample. ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ’™

When examined under the microscope, the sample contained round cells that couldnโ€™t be confidently identified from cytology alone. While finding abnormal or unidentified cells can understandably sound worrying, thereโ€™s a positive side to Hugoโ€™s story โ€” his owners found the lump while it was still very small.

Hugo will be back with us next week to have the lump surgically removed. It will then be sent to an external laboratory for histopathology, which will help identify exactly what the cells are and assess whether the lump has been completely excised. ๐Ÿ”ฌ

Hugo is a great reminder of why regularly checking your pet for lumps and bumps is so important. New lumps, growing lumps or changes to existing lumps are always worth having checked โ€” even when theyโ€™re tiny. Early investigation can give us more options and help us make the best plan for your pet. ๐Ÿพ

Found a lump? Donโ€™t wait for it to get bigger โ€” get it checked! ๐Ÿ’™
