Cobé Lodge Limited Equine Education based on: Feel - Timing - Balance

Warren and Bronwyn Cochrane have extensive experience in many facets of the equine industry which means they can offer a wide range of services including but not limited to: early education of thoroughbreds, standardbreds and sporthorses, pleasure harness, weanling/yearling handling and float training/re-training. Their philosophy revolves around feel, timing and balance to establish good communication between handler and horse and produce an obliging, light and responsive horse.

Our boy Percy is back in work for his second campaign, the first being all about experience & education.
While he is a very obliging horse that doesn’t have any major issues, Warren wants to improve his join up so that he listens and relies on him a bit more rather than operating seperately to Warren, making his own decisions under pressure.
So while he’s coming up he’ll be covering some of the basics to help with his skill set ultimately building a better relationship with his handler.

Meet Spooky, a 3yo UN-HANDLED, CHESTNUT TB filly!
We know what you’re all thinking and probably saying 😉🫣
Waz went and did a session with her at her home before attempting to transport her, that actually went pretty well given the circumstances.
She’s been with us for 3 weeks now and is making slow but steady progress. While she’s not where a younger horse would be at this stage, she is only getting better. Not rushing her allows her to remain comfortable, and in a good space to learn without regression.

EARLY EDUCATION - out of reach??

It’s often thought that the early education has to be done all at once and is a big financial commitment BUT that’s not the only option.

We have often worked out schedules with our clients doing it “a bit at a time”!
This is not only easier on the pocket but is, more often than not, the BEST way to do it for your horse.

They cope better, are given in between times to digest their learnings and more often than not come back in a much better position to continue on with their education . You can start them early because they are just learning the basics and no stress is being put on their young minds and bodies.
It also allows us to work with and cater to individual requirements with everyone’s best interests at the forefront .
Before you know it your boy/girl is ready to go when you are and you’re not behind the 🎱.

We are more than happy to work with clients in this manner and welcome inquiries .
