Well, South Gippsland's certainly been rocking and rolling lately!

A 4.8 magnitude earthquake followed by a few aftershocks has left us all a little shook up! 🕺

Earthquakes happen when built-up pressure in the Earth's crust is suddenly released. Aftershocks are a normal part of this process and generally become smaller and less frequent over time.

There's no guarantee we won't feel another rumble, but there's no need to panic!

4 YEARS OF JAKE THE SNAKE CATCHER!

4 years ago, a little boy’s dream of working with snakes and wildlife became a job I’m incredibly passionate about. And somehow, I’m still just as excited as I was on day one!

A huge thank you to all my followers, friends, family, the South Gippsland community, fellow snake catchers and reptile lovers across Australia and beyond for all your support.

But the biggest thank you goes to Katie, River, Bowie & Dusty!!

Thank you for putting up with the late-night call-outs, missed dinners and interrupted family days.

Being able to share this lifestyle and my love of wildlife with my boys is something incredibly special, and I couldn’t be prouder of their passion for wildlife too.

Thank you all for an amazing 4 years! 🐍

Always love coming across these guys. Such a cool iconic lizard and an absolute cracker of a bluey!

Wombat on the morning commute!

Had this little fella cruising along the road this morning, which is a good reminder to keep an eye out for wildlife.

Wombats, roos, wallabies and plenty of other wildlife can turn up when you least expect them.

If something does run onto the road, please don’t panic and swerve. Slow down, brake safely and stay in control of your vehicle. Swerving can cause a much more serious accident, especially if there’s oncoming traffic.

Take it easy, keep an eye on the edges of the road.

And yes… this wombat was absolutely in no hurry whatsoever. 😂

Another pic of a lowland Copperhead sent in, this time from a property in Korumburra.

Its strange how different pockets in our area of South Gippsland host different species populations.

As in there is such a high population of Tiger snakes in Nyora while 15 minutes up the road in Korumburra, there is such a large population of lowland Copperheads I've only caught two Tigers in Burra.
