Paws - Game On - Dog Training

Couldn’t have said it better myself - training is a journey and you are in it for the long road! Some skills take a couple days and some takes weeks - it depends on the dog.

I have a new kelpie x and I am guessing you would instantly say - wow they are smart that should be easy! But NO - it has taken three weeks for him to confidently get on a mat (boundary) mostly stay on the mat, but only luring on still, not associated with a word and he uses my other dog and follows him for cues….YES he is smart! BUT he is also timid with new objects, crazy for food and forgets to listen, impulsive and no self control - thats ok - I know what we have to focus on and play those games that help.

I am not expecting miracles but I know we will get there - in his time ❤️

This is a good sign that it is time to move on/leave - if your dog is overstimulated continuously and that bucket fulls up expect behavioural changes as a result of buckets overflowing
