After-Hours Veterinary Care
Caring for our team means we can continue caring for our community.
At Stewart Street Veterinary Hospital, the wellbeing of our veterinary team is incredibly important to us. Our vets care for patients throughout the day and then share the responsibility of providing emergency care overnight.
As the demand for veterinary care in our community continues to grow, we need to carefully manage the workload placed on our team. Protecting our vets from unsustainable hours allows us to continue providing safe, compassionate and high-quality care to our patients — both now and into the future.
Who can access our after-hours emergency service?
To help us provide the best possible care overnight, our after-hours emergency service is available to current, regular clients of Stewart Street Veterinary Hospital.
A current regular client is someone who has had an animal seen by one of our vets within the past three years.
This allows our vets to have an existing relationship with you and, importantly, access to your pet’s medical history if an emergency occurs after hours. Having this information can be extremely valuable when your pet needs urgent care.
New clients are welcome
The good news is that we are currently welcoming new clients for routine appointments.
Establishing your pet as a regular patient with Stewart Street Veterinary Hospital means our team can get to know you and your pet, understand their medical history and provide ongoing care. It also means that, should an after-hours emergency arise, your pet will have an established relationship with our practice and access to our after-hours service.
We currently have appointments available, so if you haven't yet established your pet with us, we encourage you to book a routine appointment.
