🐴 MEET ARTHUR! 🐴

Arthur is a beautiful Clydesdale who was recently referred to Horse & Hound Animal Physiotherapy to support his rehabilitation following an injury. 💪🏼

We’ve been working with Arthur to rebuild his strength, mobility and overall function, while gradually and safely increasing his workload as he progresses. 🐎✨

Rehabilitation is all about the right exercises, appropriate loading and progressing at the right pace — especially when you’re working with a big guy like Arthur! 🐴

Arthur is making fantastic progress, and we’re excited to continue supporting him as he works towards returning to his best. 💙🙌🏼

We’re proud to share this initiative from DARE Inc., who are looking for volunteer transport drivers and foster carers across the Central West. 💙🐾

Recently, we had the opportunity to assess two beautiful rescue dogs from DARE Inc. at Horse & Hound Animal Physiotherapy. 🐶❤️ It was a great reminder of the incredible work rescue organisations do and the importance of giving these dogs the support they need to thrive 🐕 🐾

🚨 CENTRAL WEST NSW — WE NEED YOU 🚨

Ugh....writing the words "we need you" and " NSW" in the same sentence took some ego squashing and an extra pop of Ritalin...

Yet..here we are.

We’re building a DARE Inc Central West NSW team, because right now there’s a frustratingly simple problem costing dogs their lives:

Pounds have deadlines for rescues to get them out to make room for new ones coming in... sounds like Leonardo Dicaprios dating mantra if I'm honest.

We’re currently building our network across:

📍 Bathurst
📍 Coonamble
📍 Cowra
📍 Condobolin
📍 Orange
📍 and surrounding Central West NSW areas

✅️We can find the rescue.
✅️We can find the foster carer in Qld
⚠️Almost no transport companies travel to these areas regularly, if at all.
❌️ Dogs cant get out by the deadline while we wait for transport option.

Dogs are sitting in pounds with rescues ready to take them, but without someone able to physically move them from pound → safe holding home → transport..... they get euthanised.

And that is one hell of a stupid reason for a dog to die BUT pounds are overflowing so they can't be blamed for what they are asked to do.

🚗 VOLUNTEER TRANSPORTERS 🩷

You don’t need to foster. You don’t need rescue experience. You don’t need to sign your soul over to us or suddenly acquire 14 Border Collies. Sometimes we just need someone who can say:

“Yep. I am happy to listen to my crime podcast and do a 4 hour round trip to pick thatdog up and drop them to their carer.”

That one drive can quite literally be the missing link between a pound kennel and a second chance.

Fuel costs are covered.

🏡 FOSTER CARERS 🩵

We’re also looking for foster homes throughout the region.

Many will be short-term placements. Somewhere safe for a dog to decompress, sleep, eat and be loved while we organise their next transport leg into Queensland. It gets them out the pounds safely by deadlines, while we scramble to find more Queensland suckers we can bully to taking in more 😅

You don't have to change your entire life to help save one.

Sometimes rescue just needs one spare room, one spare seat in the car, and one human willing to say yes.

If that's you, we bloody well need you. 🩷🩵

We love working alongside the incredible team at defence_community_dogs to help keep their amazing assistance dogs strong, healthy, and ready for the important work they do. 🐾💙

Murphy was an absolute superstar during his hydrotherapy session, making the most of the underwater treadmill to build strength, improve mobility, and support his overall fitness.

It’s always a privilege to play a small part in helping these incredible dogs stay in peak condition as they prepare to make a life-changing difference for Australian Veterans. 💙🐶

Do you incorporate pole work into your horse's training? 🐎💭

Pole work is a valuable tool for enhancing your horse's functional ability and mobility. By strategically placing poles on the ground or at varying heights, you can create a series of exercises that challenge your horse's movement patterns, leading to improvements in:
🔷Joint range of motion
🔷 Core and postural muscle strength
🔷Balance and coordination
🔷Spinal mobility

This versatile training aid can be tailored to your horse's specific needs and goals, whilst keeping training interesting. 💪🐴

Meet Charlie! 🐕🐾

After being diagnosed with hip dysplasia late last year, Charlie has been attending regular physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions to help manage his condition, build strength, and keep him moving comfortably. 💪

Charlie has made fantastic progress and can continue doing what he loves most—running around at the park and playing with his best friend, Snow! 🐕💙

It’s always rewarding to see our patients stay active, happy, and enjoying themselves despite their challenges.

Keep up the great work, Charlie! ✨

Meet Rippa🐕

At the end of January, Rippa began her rehab journey when her owners noticed she was sensitive to touch around her back and hips, along with a change in behaviour—keeping her distance and not quite herself.

With veterinary support and scans confirming hip dysplasia, we were able to create a tailored rehab plan focused on her specific needs and goals. Through a combination of physiotherapy, laser therapy, and hydrotherapy, Rippa’s transformation has been incredible! 🐶🙌

Today, she’s back doing what she loves most—out in the paddock working sheep alongside her friend Jimmy, and enjoying life as the happy, affectionate dog she’s always been 💙

If you’ve noticed your dog slowing down, moving differently, or just not seeming like themselves, it may be time to get them checked. Early support can make all the difference! 🐕 💪
