What’s the benefit of front paws up? 🐕
This involves static balance, meaning the dog is remaining in a fixed posture, while the front legs are up on a stable platform. This exercise is great for core and forearm strength as well as the hind end supporting the front end being raised.
Use a small and stable platform to start, with traction. You can use a lure but we want the dog to be looking where they are stepping to step up while they learn.
Don’t forget to treat them for remaining in position 🍪
This is also great for proprioception skills as they eventually are able to step up on the platform without looking down - awareness of where their limbs are.
As they learn, use different platform heights always ensuring safety first with good traction and within their abilities 🐾
