You see, when I roll onto my back and expose my belly, this is NOT an invitation for you to stop and stare. 😂

It is a formal request.

A request that says:

👉 “Please rub my belly.”
👉 “A little to the left.”
👉 “Yep, right there!”
👉 “Don’t stop!”
👉 “Actually… keep going forever.” 😂

Belly rubs are basically a doggy massage, therapy session and love language all rolled into one.

And if I suddenly kick my back leg while you’re rubbing my belly… that means you found the spot! 🥰

Snake season is definitely getting underway, and these beautiful natives are already on the move! 🌿

This Tiger Snake (Notchis scutatus) was safely removed and relocated, keeping both snake and humans happy. 💚

Remember — seeing a snake doesn’t mean it’s out to get you. Give it space, keep an eye on it, keep pets and children away, and call a licensed snake catcher if you need help 🐍

🐍 TIGER SNAKE CAUGHT IN DUCKMALOI TODAY🐍

Snake season is starting, and today was a great reminder that snakes can still be out and about even when the weather doesn’t feel particularly warm or windy.

As we head into spring, snakes are beginning to become more active as they emerge from their winter shelters, search for food and, for some species, look for a mate.

So please don’t let a cool or overcast day give you a false sense of security. Keep an eye on where you’re walking, working and letting the kids and pets explore.

And remember — if you come across a snake, give it plenty of space and don’t attempt to handle it yourself. Call a licensed snake catcher and keep an eye on it

Yesterday I was called to a bush school after a little girl discovered a snake in the bathroom. 🐍🚻

The best part of this story is that she knew exactly what to do. She stayed safe, alerted the appropriate people, and didn't try to touch or move the snake.

Because she did the right thing, I was able to safely collect and relocate the snake.
❤️ One very clever and brave little girl, and one snake—both safe! ❤️

This is such an important reminder that education around snakes can make all the difference. Knowing what to do when you see a snake helps keep both people and our native wildlife safe.

🐍 The snake that was hiding under the sheet metal!

This is exactly why it’s so important to carefully pick up and move any sheet metal lying around your property. Snakes love using it as shelter, especially when the weather starts warming up.

Tiger Snakes (Notchis scutatus) are dangerously venomous and should not be handled or provoked

Always be cautious and **never reach underneath without checking first**! 🐍⚠️

🐍 Ever wondered why snakes love hiding under sheets of metal around your property? 👀

Sheet metal provides the perfect hiding spot—it's sheltered, often warm, and offers protection from predators. Unfortunately, it can also make the perfect home for a snake!

Today, while an electrician was at a property he saw a snake go underneath some sheet metal. As they were walking past this sheet metal pile all day it was safer to relocate the Snake than maybe potentially getting bit.
He called me and I was able to relocate this beauty of a Tiger Snake (Notchis scutatus) - thankfully the owner let me relocate it down the back of the property. 🤍🐍

⚠️ A reminder: Always be careful when moving old sheets of metal, timber, rubbish, or other materials that have been sitting on the ground. Never put your hands where you can't see!

Unfortunately, vets are already seeing cases of suspected snake bites in pets. 💔
Please keep a close eye on your furry family members, especially when they’re outside. Snakes are becoming much more active as the weather warms up.
If you suspect your pet has been bitten by a snake, seek veterinary attention immediately.
And please remember to be patient with the vets, nurses and everyone else working at our veterinary clinics. ❤️
They are doing everything they possibly can to save your fur baby and provide the best care during what can be an incredibly stressful and busy time.

🌼🌿 Happy First Day of Spring! 🌿🌼

With the warmer weather arriving, our native animals are starting to move around a lot more! 🐍🦎🐨🦘

They’re out and about searching for food, new homes, and maybe even finding a friend ❤️

Please take extra care when driving, especially on country roads, and keep an eye out for our wildlife. A few extra seconds of awareness could save an animal’s life. 🐾

🐍 A call for 2 snakes turned into 3! 🐍

I was called out to a property out of town for two snakes… but as always, it pays to keep looking! 👀

After lifting the whole sheet of tin we found 3 snakes! All were safely relocated - three Tiger Snakes (Notechis scutatus).

You never know how many might be hiding nearby, so if you spot one, always keep your distance and call a licensed snake catcher! 🐍
