🐶🐩 There's good news for dog owners in Lake Mac, with Lake Macquarie City Council letting us know the new fenced dog park at Speers Point should be open within weeks.

It was hoped to be open at the end of last year, but turf laid over the hot and dry summer didn't survive and had to be re-laid.

Council's Coordinator of Recreation and Land Planning Stephen Price has let us know that the park will have hills and agility equipment for dogs like weave poles and jumping hoops.

There will also be shelters and bubblers for the two-legged friends of park patrons 😀

Mr Price says the council is glad the new turf has taken well and the park will be open soon.

“There’s lots of smiles in the office here… we’re all keen to launch this new facility”
