Yesterday was weaning day. Tonight I went to the shed as I have two bottle feds (one cria, one lamb) and wondered what all the commotion was about with stressed animals and alarm calling. Hes back ...... Spike you really are a trouble maker.

Its 20 years since the first Yaringa fleece was shown. We have continued to show fleeces with plenty of highs and a few disappointments along the way as fibre is the essence of our industry.

Nine years ago we first entered the Most Valuable Commercial Fleece class at the nationals and were rewarded with a 2nd (Yaringa Heritage ET) and a 3rd (Yaringa Gwyn) and we have had a few more entries over the years.

Well this year we did it:

MOST VALUABLE COMMERTICAL FLEECE 2026 – YARINGA TREVISIO.

As most people know, we are primarily coloured breeders and although we do use a few selected whites in our breeding program, it is not our focus – so here’s your opportunity.

YARINGA TREVISIO IS AVAILABLE TO JOIN YOUR HERD.

Sire: Yaringa Grand Duke Ferdinand (2019 AAA National Show Senior Champion)
It should be noted that Ferdinand is also the sire of Forestglen Next Level who won Most Valuable Commercial Fleece in both 2024 and 2025.

Dam: Yaringa Lucia (unfortunately her show career was limited due to covid) - and her sire is … Yaringa Heritage ET mentioned above.
Go back a bit further and you will find both Yaringa Czar and a double dose of Shanbrooke Simply The Best who were both halter broad ribbon winners at nationals level.

Trevisio was also awarded Supreme Champion at Mt Pleasant Show in March 2026.

Yaringa Trevisio is certified and ready to go.

Time just seems to go so fast. Hard to believe it is three weeks since Colourbration – about time I posted some results.
We had many creditable results, but the four absolute stars in our team were:

Yaringa Christina – Supreme Brown

Yaringa Red August – Supreme Grey – Winner of the Karen Caldwell Memorial Trophy

Yaringa Nightfall – Supreme Black – Winner of the Jane Wray Memorial Trophy. This is a really special trophy for me, named for my mentor, without whom I can honestly say I would not be where I am today in this industry.

Andean Spirit Artistic Gentleman – Supreme Fancy

We also received three fleece supremes:

Andean Spirit Quite Frankly – Supreme White

Yaringa Princess Teah – Supreme Roan

Yaringa Red August – Supreme Grey
