Happy 7th birthday to our handsome clinic dog, Arnie! Arnie is part of the furniture here at Burdekin Vets, living a life of luxury after a successful racing career. He loves nothing more than a sponge cake at smoko, as you can see! If you ever visit the clinic and need a canine cuddle, he will happily oblige! ❤🎂

Once more it has come to our attention that paying veterinary bills has become a non requirement as a DEMAND of the client.

Need we remind you that as a veterinary business we run the same as all other businesses in town with overheads, wages and other expenses.

It has come to the point where we will be asking clients to pay in advance for any consultations or medications.

If you are a Burdekin, Bowen/Collinsville, Townsville or Charters Towers client and we do a run out to see you, we will have an eftpos machine available on the day to pay for your services.

We are fully aware that unexpected emergencies can happen at the worst possible time but there are options like VetPay that can help with financial assistance. We are more than happy to help you apply for this service if needed.

The current clients who we have reached out to multiple times and refused to finalise outstanding bills have to the end of next Friday (24th July 2026) to clear their balances before further action is taken and we will update our bad debtors list on facebook.
