🐾 PATIENT OF THE WEEK: LITTLE NARMI! 🐾

This week, our Patient of the Week goes to this cute little noodle, Narmi! 🥰💗

Narmi presented to us feeling unwell, with a lack of appetite and vomiting. After further diagnostics, we discovered a suspicious foreign object in her stomach, leading to an exploratory laparotomy. Our team successfully removed the culprit… a piece of rubber! 😳🐾

Thankfully, little Narmi is feeling much better and is now recovering at home with her loving owners. ❤️

When you're hangry you didn't get breakfast and then they go and give you a puzzle feeder for lunch 🙄😂

Snake season is in full swing. We've had a few but this little guy has taken the award for worst bite so far!

His carer noticed him collapsed in the yard after seeing him moments before playing around, and rushed him in where tests concluded snakebite was very likely. He developed respiratory failure from the paralysis induced by the venom and required ventilation to ensure he could breathe. Then we found the bite site on his cheek, already looking nasty. His blood and muscles were being attacked by the venom and his urine was nearly black indicating likely a Blacksnake or Tigersnake bite.

Two vials of antivenom, six hours of ventilation and he was weaned off at 2am once he could reliably breathe for himself. He took another day to be able to walk and two more days for his urine to clear. Despite this he did not need a blood transfusion and is back at home for some TLC.

What a little champion! And a lucky boy as well!

A credit to our wonderful team for the effort they all put in to save these critical cases, with team members volunteering to stay late, do late night and graveyard shifts when your pets need it. We do it because all we want to see is them go back home with you!

🏆🐾 CELEBRATING OUR AMAZING VET NURSES 🐾🏆

A message from our amazing head nurse Claire…

Vet Nurse Week is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the incredible people behind the scrubs — the people who care, comfort, advocate, laugh, cry, problem-solve and give their absolute best to our patients every single day. ❤️

This week, I had the absolute pleasure of making each of our nurses a special award — chosen specifically to celebrate the qualities, strengths and little things that make each of them so special to our team.

Because being a great vet nurse isn't just about knowledge and skills. It's about compassion. It's about patience. It's about supporting each other on the hard days, celebrating the wins together and always putting our patients first. 🐾

As their head nurse, I couldn't be prouder of this team. I get to see the hard work that happens behind the scenes, the extra effort that often goes unnoticed and the genuine love they have for every animal that comes through our doors.

To my incredible team — thank you. Thank you for everything you do, for the care you give, for the laughs you bring and for the way you show up for each other every day.

Each of you brings something different to our team, and that’s what makes us so special. ❤️

These awards are just a small way of saying we see you, we appreciate you, and we are so incredibly lucky to have you.

Happy Vet Nurse Week to an absolutely amazing bunch of humans. 🐾❤️

Proud to call this team mine.
Love CA 🌸
