"It will get better, assuming you work on it and your timing. It does not have to be achieved in one day."

Not all horses are born with the same brain, while some just thought there was a branch attached to a rope and couldn't care less... some thought it was a dragon 🐲on the end of the rope coming for them..... So we took a different approach with Jack.

- 💕We love Jack for teaching valuable moments and new skills to our clients like April, and we love the fact April smiles throughout the challenge, every horse will have its "moments" might as well learn the skills in a safe controlled environment to help them, and smile as we go -

Those that did the recent clinic with me, we talked about getting messy when our horses needed us to help make a change, grow or correct them! Too many riders are scared to look bad or have judgment from others. Do what your horse needs and you’ll feel a difference and you’ll sit pretty real soon with great feeling.

Rides aren’t always pretty.

A lot of people are chasing “pretty.”

Smooth. Quiet. No mistakes.
Everything looks good from the outside.

But here’s the problem—

Pretty isn’t always honest.

A horse can look soft and still be ignoring you.
They can look quiet and still be dull.
They can look broke… and still be avoiding parts of the job.

Because sometimes “pretty” is just what happens when we avoid the moment we should’ve stepped in.

We don’t fix the small brace.
We don’t address the missed cue.
We don’t quite hold them accountable when they check out.

Why?

Because it might not look very good for a minute.

So we let it go… and call it a good ride.

But those little things stack up.

And eventually, that “pretty” ride turns into a horse that’s heavy, dull, and disconnected.

Effective riding isn’t always pretty in the moment.

Sometimes it looks like a correction.
Sometimes it looks like disrupting the flow.
Sometimes it looks like doing something that wouldn’t win the warm-up pen.

But it means something to the horse.

Pretty will impress people.
Effective will train your horse.

And if you get the timing right—

Pretty will show up later anyway.

About Chelsea:
Chelsea has been involved in reining since 2008 as youth and it was then she developed a passion for training young horses to develop in the show pen and showing horses in aged event classes, she has since produced many show horses to go on to being competitive at non pro and open level, She also now competes in Ranch classes and Reined Cow Horse and is constantly expanding skills and knowledge to then pass onto others. Chelsea was top 10 in the recent Australia's Greatest Horsewoman in the Open level on her home trained Mare Mary.

EOI:
This Friday 4pm onwards

Machinal Cow Flag and Arena use (Shared open pen)

Opportunity to work the flag while Chelsea operates it with some very basic tips or just have a go yourself.
Ridders will have 10 minuets at a time. Riders may have two goes on the flag giving riders a total of 20min flag time.

Help available for:
*Introducing horses to the flag (If you need to be on the ground we can also do this, some horses can get worried and a nervous rider isn't going to help them, start from the ground if needed and work up)
* Body control
* Roll backs
* The flag can be a great tool for getting riders to have an objective to ride without over thinking and ride with meaning.
* Preparation for cattle work and cattle clinics in the future with outside trainers.

Clinic participates enjoyed working the flag at our last clinic!
I will try to have some afternoons at random to give riders and locals the opportunity to build their skills and expose their horse to something new.
(Please note this is very lightly instructed not a clinic or lesson)

$40 per rider.

All levels and youth welcome

This Friday from 4pm onwards

"Spike" Is hitting the market, owner is too busy raising young kids and working, has not had the time to put into him and his price reflects this.

Quiet and on the lazy side, loves to go for a trail ride up the road, would rather this than work, not spooky, easy to catch, float and handle. Rope off him, been on the mechanical flag, well exposed, not much seems to bother him.
Spike had around 8 -10 weeks training around 12 months ago, during that time he had been out to show environments, clinics, and trails.

To get the best out of him he will need a rider with some confidence to get the forward happening, can be sticky footed when bringing him back into work and would rather hang out with his mates than go to work, this is mainly due to lack of training and time he hasn't had under saddle, a confident good minded rider will get this out of him with time put into him. No nasties just lazy brained.
Great project for someone to bring along.
Honest sale and videos available.

8,500🥕 Available for viewing now.
