⁉️ Do you or anyone you know have an abundance of baby socks and just don’t know what to do with them? 🧦

Tiny socks for tiny toes… but with a very important job! 🧡

Those little baby socks help keep our anaesthetic patients’ little paws warm and cosy while they’re under anaesthetic 💤🐶🐱

If your little one has outgrown their baby socks, don’t throw them out… donate them to our patients instead! 🧦🩶

If you have any you don’t need anymore, we’d love to give them a second life helping our furry patients 🐾

🌸🐾 SPRING HAS SPRUNG 🐾🌸

Warmer weather means more walks, outdoor adventures and time spent exploring, but spring can also bring a few extra risks for our pets ⚠️

🐍 Snakes are becoming active
🔸 Keep pets away from long grass and know the signs of a snake bite
🔸If you suspect a bite, seek veterinary attention immediately

🌼 Allergies are blooming
🔸Increased scratching, paw licking, red skin or recurrent ear problems can all be signs of environmental allergies

🌿 Outdoor hazards are everywhere
🔸Keep an eye out for ticks, fleas, grass seeds, toxic plants, garden chemicals and other hazards while your pet is exploring.

A little preparation can help keep spring adventures safe and enjoyable 🧡

Stay safe, stay curious and enjoy spring with your furry family! 🌷🐶🐱

🦸‍♀️ Meet our staff Monday! 🦸‍♀️

🐥 Lydia - Animal Attendant

Lydia grew up in Springhurst and has always had a strong love for animals. She's travelled extensively, including living and working in Broome at resorts, while also house-sitting and caring for people’s cats and dogs.
She's been surrounded by animals her whole life with a wide variety of pets, including dogs, cats, budgies, parrots, fish, mice, rabbits, snakes, lizards, scorpions and turtles.

Her animal care experience includes working at Beechworth Boarding Kennel for a year, followed by two years so far at Family Vet Centre. She also has extensive experience with wildlife through volunteering at a wildlife rescue, as well as previous experience for a range of farm animals volunteering at an animal sanctuary.
She's passionate about animal welfare and love providing animals with the care, patience and attention they deserve.

Lydia is a very valued member of our boarding staff. Her attention to detail and passion for animal welfare are just a few of the things that make her such a great asset in the kennels 🐾

Today we’re celebrating the wonderful dogs who bring so much love, laughter and happiness into our lives 🌼

From the cheeky puppies to the gentle seniors, the couch potatoes to the adventure seekers, every dog has their own special personality and a very special place in our hearts 🐶

Today, give your four-legged best friend an extra cuddle, a favourite treat, a sniff-filled walk or simply some quality time together.
Because to them, you’re their whole world 🥰

This little kitty was helping to shape our luscious cat grass in our Family Vet Centre Cattery after its rapid growth spurt with all this rain!

🦸‍♀️ Meet our staff Monday! 🦸‍♀️

Also an official welcome on board for Dr. Mika! 🥳

After graduating from Murdoch University in Western Australia in 2016, Mika began her veterinary career in a rural South Australian practice, where she worked for two years before moving to south-east Melbourne. She spent the following five and a half years working in small animal practice before deciding to make a lifestyle change and move to the country with her partner. She has been thoroughly enjoying country life ever since.

She enjoys getting to know her clients and their pets and is also part of Family Vet Centre’s mobile veterinary team, providing care to pets and their families in the comfort of their own homes.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her partner and their dog, Vance, hiking, exploring new places and helping with the custom furniture business her partner is building.

We appreciate the knowledge Dr. Mika has brought to our team, along with her gentleness and patience she is a true asset to Family Vet Centre 🐾

🐄 Olivia - Animal Attendant

Olivia always knew she wanted to work with and care for animals since she was little. Having grown up in Wodonga her entire life, loving the opportunity to give back to the local community and their beloved pets. Having grown up spending many weekends helping on her grandparent’s dairy farm and surrounded by many animals at home, she’s grown a deep passion for supporting and caring for animal’s needs. Now furthering her knowledge and skills in animal care through Tafe. She loves ensuring that families know that their pets are well taken care of whilst they’re away, making sure they’re comfortable, safe and healthy.

Olivia has become more hands on within our Boarding team recently and has stepped up to the role admirably, her passion radiates from her 24/7 🌞
