Let talk Adoption Applications, Respect & Our Procedures 🐾💜
First and foremost, we want to say a huge thank you to our amazing followers, supporters, past adopters and everyone who continues to stand behind Help 4 Felines In Need. 🐾💜
We genuinely appreciate every single person who supports what we do.
Without you, we simply could not continue helping the cats in our care, assisting with street-cat programs and supporting felines in need throughout our community.
You all absolutely rock! 🥰🐱
That said, we just want to remind everyone of a few important things when dealing with our rescue.
We are a small, specialised rescue.
We are still relatively new, and we have procedures in place for very good reasons to protect our volunteers, our rescue, our families and, most importantly, the animals in our care.
One of our procedures relates to adoption meet and greets.
📍 Our animals will always be listed as being located in Osborne SA , unless otherwise stated.
🏡 If you submit an adoption application and are approved to proceed to a meet and greet, the exact address will only be provided the day before the scheduled appointment.
This is a safety measure.
We need to protect ourselves and the animals in our care in case someone has inappropriate or harmful intentions.
It also means that if you change your mind about proceeding with an adoption, an address is unnecessary.
This isn’t personal.
It’s simply our procedure, and we ask that you respect it. 💜
And while we’re discussing procedures, we also need to talk about respect.
We will always do our best to communicate with you politely, respectfully and professionally
whether you are:
🐾 Applying to adopt
🐾 Attending a meet-and-greet
🐾 applying to Foster
🐾Seeking help with a colony
🐾 Looking to surrender an animal
🐾 Reaching out for assistance
We expect that same basic level of respect in return.
There is never a reason to be rude, abusive or disrespectful towards our volunteers.
We understand that people can become frustrated, disappointed or emotional, particularly when dealing with animal welfare.
We understand that not every application will be successful, and not every situation will go exactly as someone hopes.
But disappointment is never an excuse for abuse or disrespect.
Our volunteers give their time, energy, homes and hearts to helping animals. We deserve the same courtesy and respect that we extend to you.
If we can treat you with kindness and respect, we simply ask that you do the same for us. 💜
We don’t want to have to decline an adoption application or assistance request because of someone’s behaviour.
It doesn’t make us feel good, and it isn’t something we want to do.
So, to everyone who does the right thing communicates respectfully, follows our procedures and understands that our rules are there for a reason we love and appreciate you! 🥹💜
To all our past adopters, pending adopters, followers, fosters, supporters, donors and everyone who continues to cheer us on:
THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. 🐾💜
You are the reason we can keep doing what we do.
And to anyone who may currently be frustrated with us or who has been
disrespectful:
We understand frustration.
We understand disappointment.
But there is no excuse for abuse, harassment or disrespect.
Please remember that behind this rescue are real people who care deeply about animals and are doing their very best to make a difference. 🐱💜
Kindness costs nothing and respect goes both ways.
With love and appreciation,
Help 4 Felines In Need 🐾💜
