🐝 Mademoiselle Bee isn’t finished. She’s restarting. 🍯
Today, I went back to mentoring beekeeping for the first time in about five months, and it reminded me just how much I love bees and beekeeping. ❤️
It also made me reflect on something I’ve struggled with for a long time: I overcommit.
I say yes, take on too much, and when I realise I can’t do everything I said I would, I burn out. And one of my patterns when I’m overwhelmed is to become quiet and disappear.
That’s what happened with Mademoiselle Bee.
This has absolutely nothing to do with the beautiful people who have hosted my hives. I’m incredibly grateful to every friend, family member and acquaintance who has given my bees a home and supported me along the way. And I’m genuinely sorry for my absence these past few months.
So, from next week, I’ll be moving my hives from the various backyards they’re currently in to one location where I can look after them myself.
Not because I don’t appreciate the people who helped me, but because I’ve realised I need to build Mademoiselle Bee around a life that is actually sustainable for me.
I want beekeeping to be something I love, not another thing that burns me out.
So this isn’t goodbye.
🐝 It’s a restart. A better, simpler, and more sustainable Mademoiselle Bee.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far. ❤️
And to those currently hosting my hives, I’ll be in touch when it’s time for your bees to move.
Here’s to the next chapter. 🐝🍯
