This boy is still going strong at 11 years. His contribution to the breed brought imported genetics, small ears, straight profile and ALC whited expression. All attributes in jeopardy due to the import ban.

Fewer than 2,200 Andean mountain cats are thought to exist, spread across remote cliffs from Peru to Patagonia. Scientists can wait years for a single confirmed sighting.

In a landscape where cameras outnumber cats, survival itself is the rarest proof.

🧡 Pallas’s Cat Kittens (Manul Cubs) 🐾

These adorable fluffballs are Pallas’s cat kittens, one of the world’s most unique and ancient wild cat species. Native to the cold steppes and rocky grasslands of Central Asia, these kittens already show the species’ signature round faces, low-set ears, and incredibly dense fur.

Despite their cute appearance, Pallas’s cats are true wild predators. Their thick coats help them survive freezing temperatures, while their compact bodies and excellent camouflage keep them hidden from predators and prey alike.

Pallas’s cats are solitary and elusive, and seeing their young in the wild is extremely rare. These kittens will grow up to master patience and stealth rather than speed, a survival strategy that sets them apart from most other wild cats.

🌍 Status: Near Threatened
❄️ Habitat: Cold steppes, rocky hills, and high-altitude grasslands
🐾 Known for: Fluffy fur, grumpy expressions, and ancient lineage

Lets talk VOMIT🤮
Parts of the picture are somewhat accurate, but it neglects the information you need to know. Let me summarize that for you:
1. Feed many small meals of a properly formulated, research based diet that meets WSAVA guidelines
2. See your veterinarian at least once/year with your cat and do the recommended parasite prevention along with the other appropriate things for your cat (depending on age that may be vaccines, bloodwork, blood pressure, dental procedure, etc).
3. Grow cat grass so your cat has safe greenery to enjoy
4. If you notice your cat isn't grooming as well, their coat is looking less good than it used to, or they are matting etc then you need to see your veterinarian for an appropriate medical workup because cats don't groom as much when they don't feel well (and don't forget pain in here as well).

On top of those basics, if your cat vomits more than once/month - no matter what the vomit looks like - you need to see your veterinarian for an appropriate medical workup to find out why.

Vomiting blood and/or vomiting repeatedly in a day and/or vomiting with other symptoms (not eating, lethargy, diarrhea, etc) = go to a veterinarian immediately as this is an emergency.

How beautiful, elusive and rare. Conservation done in collaboration with local communities ♥️

Deep in Africa’s dense rainforests, a mysterious golden shadow slips silently through the undergrowth. 🌿 For decades, the African golden cat, one of the continent’s rarest big cats, remained almost invisible to science. So elusive that even experts like Mwezi Mugerwa have glimpsed it only three times in sixteen years, this feline was a ghost among the trees, quietly hunting, living, and vanishing without a trace.

Everything changed in 2019. With the help of National Geographic, Panthera, and 46 scientists, Mugerwa launched the largest camera trap survey ever for the species. Millions of photos flooded in, and AI helped identify individual cats by their coat patterns, like digital fingerprints. The data revealed a fragile population, with accidental deaths in snares threatening their survival, but also proof that protection works: in some well-guarded forests, numbers rose by almost 50%.

Through Embaka, a community-led conservation program, over 8,000 families now protect the forests and golden cats alike. This secretive predator, once nearly lost to the world, finally has a fighting chance. 🐆

Pallas Cat facts♥️

It endures brutal winters by relying on the densest fur of any wild cat and a compact build that traps heat.

Flat ears and a low profile help it conserve warmth, making this plush hunter far tougher than it looks.

Some Cougar facts♥️

Meet the cougar, the ghost of the Americas. This supremely adaptable cat holds a territory stretching from the Canadian Yukon to the tip of Patagonia, a range greater than any other wild terrestrial mammal in the Western Hemisphere. A master of stealth, it can leap the length of a school bus and stalk to within a few feet of its prey without making a sound. While it lacks the roar of its larger cousins, its piercing scream in the night is the stuff of legend. More than just a phantom, the cougar is a vital ecosystem engineer, a solitary guardian that keeps herbivore populations in check and wilderness areas healthy.

Very interesting and maybe something you have not thought about for your cats. I feed chicken hearts, only 1-2 every week. Also feed mostly raw mixture I buy from Happy Dog Pet foods called Happy Dog Raw containing appropriate amounts of organs minced into chicken mince, beef, duck.

🔥 This is the SAND CAT — The Fierce Kitten of the Desert 🐾🌵

Looking like a cuddly house kitten, the Sand Cat is actually a wild feline built to survive some of the harshest deserts on Earth.

From North Africa to Central Asia, it thrives where almost no other cat can.

Its thick fur insulates against scorching heat and freezing nights, and the fur on its paws works like natural boots — protecting it from burning sand while leaving almost no tracks.

Despite its tiny size, the Sand Cat is a skilled hunter, even taking down venomous snakes in the dunes. 🐍

✨ Fun fact: Sand Cats can go months without drinking water, getting all the moisture they need from their prey.

You won’t believe this cat exists, It’s not a bird. It’s not a weasel. It’s a jaguarundi and it might just be the weirdest little feline you’ve never heard of.

Unlike your typical wild cat that prowls under the moon, this tiny panther loves the sun. Yep, the jaguarundi is a daytime hunter, strutting through forests and grasslands like it owns the place. Lizards, rodents, small birds, you name it, it’s on the menu.

Here’s the twist that will make your jaw drop. This cat doesn’t roar, hiss, or growl. Nope. It chirps. Bird-like whistles, trills, and chirps roll out of this four-legged singer like it’s auditioning for a jungle choir. Locals often mistake it for a bird until it pops up on paws instead of wings. Imagine mistaking a cat for a parrot. Mind blown.

Its body is long and sleek, almost otter-like, with smooth reddish or gray fur that lets it slip through brush faster than you can say jaguarundi. Early explorers were so baffled they thought it was a cat-mongoose hybrid, nature clearly having a little fun with evolution.

Sadly, humans aren’t as creative as nature. Deforestation and habitat loss mean you’re seeing this chirping cat less and less in the wild. But if you’re lucky enough to spot one, it’s a reminder that nature doesn’t follow rules. Sun-loving, chirping, mongoose-looking cats exist and they are living their best life out there.

So next time someone tells you cats are all the same, tell them about the jaguarundi. A tiny feline that hunts in daylight, sings like a bird, and makes you rethink everything you know about cats. The jungle’s little rebel proves sometimes the weirdest creatures are the most fascinating.
