Important Updates to Kat's Cat Grooming: Safety, Pricing & New Hours 🐾
Dear Clients,
To ensure the longevity of our family business, eliminate expensive EFTPOS fees, and cover rising operational costs (like travel and wages), we are updating our business structure and OFFICIALLY CHANGING OUR NAME FROM KAT'S PET GROOMING TO SOUTHERN ADELAIDE CAT GROOMING, EFFICTIVE 1ST JULY 2026.
While our name is changing and we have a new bank account for payments, our phone number remains exactly the same!
Here is everything you need to know about our upcoming changes:
🗓️ NEW OPENING HOURS & BOOKING LIMITS
🔹 NEW HOURS: We are moving to a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday schedule only. Spots are limited, so booking ahead is highly recommended.
🔹THE 13-WEEK RULE: To prevent painful matting and highly stressful "makeover" grooms, active clients must have sessions scheduled no more than 13 weeks apart (ideally 6–10 weeks).
🔹BOOKING TEXTS: Please note that after 1/7/26, automated texts from our booking system will now say your appointment is with "Kat from Southern Adelaide Cat Grooming".
💰 PRICE RESTRUCTURE: MAINTENANCE VS. MAKEOVERS
We are introducing tiered pricing to reward regular care and account for the extra labor of complex grooms:
🔸REGULAR MAINTENANCE: Prices remain lower and more affordable for cats kept within our 13-week window.
🔸MAKEOVER GROOMING: Intensive grooming (severe knot/mat removal or long gaps between visits) will now carry a higher fee. Keep your regular schedule to easily avoid this extra charge!
🐱 OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR CAT'S WELL-BEING
To ensure grooming remains a positive, stress-free experience, we have updated our health policies:
🔺SUPPORTIVE MEDICATION: For cats that are anxious, fearful, aggressive, or experiencing chronic pain, we highly recommend discussing vet-prescribed options (such as Gabapentin) with your vet. Please organize and administer this prior to our arrival.
🔺STRESS BOUNDARIES: Your cat's safety always comes first. We will stop a service immediately if a cat appears overly stressed to protect them from a medical episode.
🔺VETERINARY HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: We require up-to-date vet checks before booking (we will provide a simple form for your vet to sign):
🐾Ages 0–9 years & 11 months: Wellness check within the past 12 months.
🐾Ages 10–14 years & 11 months: Wellness check within the past 12 months + a broad-spectrum blood panel.
🐾Ages 15+: Wellness check within the past 6 months + a broad-spectrum blood panel.
💳 DEPOSITS, PAYMENT & SECURE CONFIRMATION
We now operate on a strict pre-payment policy to lock in appointments. Please note our bank account details have changed, so double-check the details on your invoice before transferring!
🔹 APPOINTMENT PRICING:
🐾Nail Trim Only: Fixed cost of $35 per cat.
🐾Full Grooming: Base services start at $100 (a bath). Final pricing is based on service type, cat weight, and coat length.
🔹THE 48-HOUR DEPOSIT RULE: Once your booking request is accepted, you will receive a text to pay for your appointment's expected cost ($35 for Nail Trims / $100+ for Grooms). If unpaid 48 hours before the appointment, your slot is automatically released to the public
🔹TIME SLOT OWNERSHIP: Once confirmed, that slot is exclusively yours. Regardless of whether your cat allows the groom to proceed or finish, the time slot is non-recoverable and non-refundable to cover business overhead and wages.
