Hope this boy can find his forever home soon.
Could Hurley be the right fit for you?
Hurley is a 2 year old GSD who came to us after Animal Welfare League reached out for support.
Hurley was originally found as a stray. When he arrived, he was struggling with dog reactivity, over-arousal, and difficulty settling within everyday environments. Since beginning his rehabilitation, we’ve focused on helping him develop a calmer mindset, build neutrality around other dogs, strengthen his engagement with his handler, and improve communication through structured training and fulfilment.
Throughout his rehabilitation with us, Hurley has learned our communication and marker system, improved his leash skills, place training, recall, and is now completely crate trained. Under the guidance of our veterinarian, Hurley has successfully come off behavioural medication.
He’s also made fantastic progress learning how to better regulate himself around other dogs and environmental distractions and is now even used as a demo dog during our Stay and Learn handovers.
Hurley is a fun, confident boy with a huge working drive and an even bigger love for toys. He thrives when given purpose, enjoys learning, and loves getting out and doing things with his people.
He will be best suited to an active and committed home that can continue providing him with appropriate exercise, structure, and opportunities to use both his body and mind. In the right environment, Hurley is going to make an incredibly rewarding companion.
