Paxterr Aussies had an enjoyable couple of days at the All Breeds Dog Club Championship Shows last weekend, 18th and 19th April. On Saturday, the competition was very keen with a total of seven Aussies competing. I am pleased to say that our new girl, Galtamac Queen Bess at Paxterr, won the Bitch Challenge on the Saturday AM show and both shows on Sunday. Bruno, aka A20 Ch. Gr. Ch. Paxterr Pants on Fire, had a quiet day on Saturday but won two Best of Breed awards on Sunday together with a Best in Group 4 on Sunday afternoon under judge, Ms Lyn Brand from NSW. Big thanks to all the judges on the weekend. Thanks also go to Sheryle Pike, with whom I shared a gazebo all weekend. This was an opportunity for me to listen and learn from an experienced and successful dog fancier. It was also wonderful to enjoy the company of Cerrie and Barry Gower as well as Wendy Sullivan-Quin and their beautiful Aussie terriers. Finally, huge thanks to Bessie's breeder, Molly Ford at Galtamac Aussie Terriers.

BREAKING: Trump attacks Pope Leo XIV — and gets a FIERY sermon in response that he won’t forget

Donald Trump thought he could score cheap political points by calling Pope Leo XIV an “insult to Jesus” because the Holy Father is “beyond woke” and believes that God does not discriminate on the basis of gender. Unfortunately for "Dementia Don," he picked the wrong person. Standing in a historic venue, Pope Leo XIV didn’t just clap back — he delivered a moral reckoning.

“The president of the United States just said that I insulted Jesus,” Pope Leo XIV began. “You want to know what insults Jesus? Kicking the sick off their health care while cutting taxes for billionaires.”

And that was only just the start.

“You know what insults Jesus?” he continued. “Deporting the stranger and separating babies from their mothers.”

Then he went even further — taking aim at war, corruption, and hypocrisy.

“You know what insults Jesus? Bombing innocent school children in Iran and sending our brave men and women off to die in another forever war… Covering up the Epstein files and then refusing to prosecute a single person in them.”

This wasn’t politics as usual. This was a full-on moral indictment. Pope Leo XIV — who has been attacked by Trump for supporting transgender individuals and saying “trans children are God’s children” — flipped the script entirely. Instead of backing down, he grounded his message in the very teachings Trump tried to weaponize.

“I am not a perfect Christian,” he said. “There’s only been one perfect Christian and he was crucified on a cross 2,000 years ago.”

And then came the line that hit hardest: “Jesus told us to love our neighbors as ourselves… Can we imagine war in heaven? Can we imagine bigotry in heaven? Can we imagine poverty in heaven? Then why do we tolerate these things on earth?”

That’s how you respond. Not with insults. Not with fear. But with clarity — and conviction. Trump tried to smear him. Instead, Pope Leo XIV delivered a sermon that’s now echoing far beyond that room.

Please like and share Pope Leo XIV’s inspiring words! 🙏✨

Worth a read!

We all want to prevent unwanted litters, but preventing litters does not have to mean removing hormones. There is a newer approach.

Veterinary reproduction specialists are increasingly recommending hormone preserving sterilization, a way to prevent unwanted litters while supporting long term health. Procedures like vasectomies and o***y sparing spays (hysterectomies) can be performed safely as early as 8 weeks, allowing dogs to retain the natural hormones their bodies need. For female dogs, an o***y-sparing spay can prevent pyometra because the uterus is removed, so the infection has nowhere to develop.

The 2026 peer-reviewed study published in the journal Animals by Isabel Pires and Rita Files on urinary bladder cancer in dogs and cats highlights that spaying and neutering (gonadectomy) are associated with an increased risk of urothelial carcinoma (UC), particularly in dogs, though the evidence is observational rather than causal. One cited epidemiological study found that neutered dogs had approximately 4.6 times higher odds (OR ≈ 4.57) of developing UC compared to intact dogs, suggesting a strong statistical association. The proposed biological mechanism centers on hormonal changes after sterilization: removal of the go**ds eliminates s*x hormone feedback, causing luteinizing hormone (LH) levels to rise dramatically (up to ~30× normal), which may stimulate cell proliferation in tissues like the bladder and potentially contribute to carcinogenesis. Additionally, neutering is linked to metabolic changes such as increased appetite, reduced metabolic rate, and a higher likelihood of obesity—another independent risk factor for cancer due to chronic inflammation and altered adipokine signaling.

I am a little late in posting Paxterr's results from the SA Poultry & Kennel Club Shows on 13th and 15th March 2026. On Friday evening, under judge, Mr S Tassan (Qld), Bruno was awarded Best of Breed and Bessie, Baby Puppy of Breed and then on to Baby Puppy in Group. Then, on Sunday, under Mrs M Merchant (SA) Bruno was Runner-up Best of Breed and Bessie was again judged Baby Puppy in Group. That was her last show as a Baby as she has turned six months old today and will go up to Puppy Class from this coming weekend. Here are some photos of Bessie and Bruno at the Show.

Meet Billy Garton-Hill aka Paxterr Valiant Warrior aged 10 weeks. He has gone to a lovely furever home with his new mum, Matilda. To say that she is in love with Billy would be an understatement.
