🌈🐾 RAINBOW BRIDGE REMEMBRANCE DAY 🐾🌈

Today, 28th August, is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, a day to remember and honour the beloved pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. ❤️

For many of us, our pets are family. They share our homes, our routines, our happiest moments and so many memories that stay with us long after they are gone. 🐶🐱🐰💔

Today is a day to remember those special souls, the wagging tails, the gentle purrs, the cheeky personalities and all the little things that made them them. 🌈

At Port Road Vet, we know how deeply loved our patients are, and we feel privileged to have cared for so many beautiful animals throughout their lives. 🐾💙

Today, we remember the pets we have loved, the memories they gave us, and the paw prints they left forever on our hearts. 🐾🌈

If you have a special pet waiting at the Rainbow Bridge, share their name or a favourite photo with us below. ❤️

🚨🦷 LAST CHANCE TO BITE INTO OUR DENTAL MONTH DISCOUNT! 🦷🚨

August is nearly over, which means time is running out to book your pet’s dental and lock in our special Dental Health Month discount! 🐶🐱

The best part? You don't need to have the dental procedure done in August! 🙌

📅 Simply book your pet's dental by 31 August, and you can still receive the Dental Month discount even if their procedure takes place in September!

Dental disease is one of the most common health problems we see in our furry friends, and it can be much more than just a case of stinky breath! 😷

Hidden dental disease can cause:
🦷 Pain and discomfort
🍖 Difficulty eating
🤢 Bad breath
❤️ Ongoing health issues if left untreated

The tricky part? Our pets are often very good at hiding dental pain! 🐾 They may still be eating, playing and acting normally while experiencing discomfort.

⏰ Don't miss out! Book your pet's dental by the end of August to lock in the Dental Health Month discount, even if their procedure is in September!

📞 Give us a call on 8340 0388 and let's help keep those pearly whites sparkling! ✨🦷🐶🐱

🦷🐾 AUGUST IS PET DENTAL HEALTH MONTH! 🐾🦷

Just like us, our pets need good dental care to stay healthy, comfortable and happy! 💙

Dental disease is one of the most common health conditions affecting both dogs and cats. If left untreated, it can cause pain, difficulty eating and bad breath, and may even contribute to more serious health problems affecting organs such as the heart, kidneys and liver.

That’s why this August, we’re helping your pet put their best smile forward! 😁🐶🐱

💙🐾 We Love Being Part of Our Special Community! 🐾💙

We recently had a very special group visit us after hours, Vet Nurse Mel’s daughter’s Scout group! 🔎🐶

The Scouts were given a behind-the-scenes tour of Port Road Vet, getting to see what happens inside a veterinary clinic when the doors are closed.

Mel showed them around and explained what happens when a patient comes through our doors — from consultations to surgery, hospital care and recovery. 🩺🐱🐰🐶

They also got an insight into what it’s really like to be a Vet Nurse, the rewarding moments, the teamwork, the challenges and, of course, all the wonderful animals we get to care for every day!

There were lots of great questions, plenty of curiosity and hopefully a few future animal lovers inspired along the way. 💙

We feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful local community and love being able to open our doors and share what we do with the next generation. 🐾

👋 Would your Scout or Guide group, school, community group or youth organisation love a behind-the-scenes tour of Port Road Vet?

Get in touch with our team, we’d love to see if we can arrange a visit! 🐾💙

🐾 A little bit of art on our walls! 💙

Did you know that Port Road Vet is a family-owned and operated business? We’re proudly independent, and that family touch can be seen throughout our beautiful new home at 500 Port Road, Welland.

One of the special touches in our new waiting room is the artwork, which was lovingly painted by Nicki, Dr Kevin’s wife. 🎨💙

And if you look closely, you might even spot a very special member of the family, their much loved dog, Boycey! 🐶❤️

We love that our clinic isn’t just a workplace, it’s a reflection of our family, our team and the love we have for animals.

Next time you’re waiting for your appointment, have a look around and see if you can spot Boycey! 🐾

🐰💙 Handsome Charlie recently visited us at Port Road Vet for his desexing procedure!

Just like cats and dogs, rabbits benefit greatly from being desexed. Desexing can help reduce unwanted behaviours such as aggression, prevents unwanted litters, and makes bonding with another rabbit much easier. It also has important long-term health benefits, helping your bunny live a happier, healthier life.

Charlie was a superstar throughout his procedure, and we wish him a smooth and speedy recovery at home! 🥕🐇💙

If you have a rabbit and would like to know more about desexing or the best time for the procedure, our friendly team is always happy to help.
