💙🐾 We Love Being Part of Our Special Community! 🐾💙

We recently had a very special group visit us after hours, Vet Nurse Mel’s daughter’s Scout group! 🔎🐶

The Scouts were given a behind-the-scenes tour of Port Road Vet, getting to see what happens inside a veterinary clinic when the doors are closed.

Mel showed them around and explained what happens when a patient comes through our doors — from consultations to surgery, hospital care and recovery. 🩺🐱🐰🐶

They also got an insight into what it’s really like to be a Vet Nurse, the rewarding moments, the teamwork, the challenges and, of course, all the wonderful animals we get to care for every day!

There were lots of great questions, plenty of curiosity and hopefully a few future animal lovers inspired along the way. 💙

We feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful local community and love being able to open our doors and share what we do with the next generation. 🐾

🐾 A little bit of art on our walls! 💙

Did you know that Port Road Vet is a family-owned and operated business? We’re proudly independent, and that family touch can be seen throughout our beautiful new home at 500 Port Road, Welland.

One of the special touches in our new waiting room is the artwork, which was lovingly painted by Nicki, Dr Kevin’s wife. 🎨💙

And if you look closely, you might even spot a very special member of the family, their much loved dog, Boycey! 🐶❤️

We love that our clinic isn’t just a workplace, it’s a reflection of our family, our team and the love we have for animals.

🐰💙 Handsome Charlie recently visited us at Port Road Vet for his desexing procedure!

Just like cats and dogs, rabbits benefit greatly from being desexed. Desexing can help reduce unwanted behaviours such as aggression, prevents unwanted litters, and makes bonding with another rabbit much easier. It also has important long-term health benefits, helping your bunny live a happier, healthier life.

Charlie was a superstar throughout his procedure, and we wish him a smooth and speedy recovery at home! 🥕🐇💙
