Leewood Burmese Cats Leewood Burmese is registered with the Feline Association of South Australia. Our passion is for the O gene, producing creams, reds, and torties.

We breed for health, temperament and type, raising our kittens in our own loving home. Pet and show kittens. I'm Michelle Hinder, and I have been breeding and showing beautiful Burmese cats for over ten years. I am an All Shorthair Judge with the Feline Association of SA. I am very active in the cat fancy in South Australia, and am very passionate about all cats. My cats are very successful show c

ats, and are beautiful house pets too. I raise my kittens in my home, as family members, and this assures that they will have an outgoing and friendly temperament when they join their new families. I attend all Feline Association of SA shows, and also attend the CCCA National Show each year with my cats. My stud boy GDCH Leewood Billy The Kid was Supreme Exhibit at the Royal Adelaide Show in 2014, and has many other Supreme in Show wins, as well as winning Kitten of the year. I am extremely proud of all of my cats. This is how I make my chicken for my cats. Growing fat and healthy kittens, and maintaining weight on lactating queens, is an expensive process! Iā€™m buying twin packs of chickens, around 1.8-2kgs. I cook these every two days. There is a lot of other things that go into the daily feed plan, but this chicken recipe is so nutritious, and youā€™ll be amazed how much jelly you get, itā€™s all super nutrient dense.

Our tiniest baby boy from Sunni is now seven and and a half weeks old, and catching up fast to his siblings. Mighty Samson the little lion šŸ¦ I started feeding him solids at four weeks, and he thankfully took to it with gusto. I have some great tricks to train kittens to eat, it can be so useful with big litters or problems with lactation.

A very early sneaky peek at our freshly baked baby Burmese.

It takes me a long while to decide with litters who will be a future show star and breeding prospect for Leewood Burmese Cats. I breed these beautiful cats firstly for myself. Every litter is meticulously planned with a view to the future plans of my cattery, we have very few litters, and this is my life passion.

I am completely snowed under with kitten enquiries, as most breeders probably are. I canā€™t keep up, and I have very relaxed ā€˜waiting listsā€™, as I donā€™t like to get peopleā€™s hopes up. For this reason, I donā€™t take any kind of deposit or anything unless I have something for you.

These kittens wonā€™t be sorted into any kind of arrangement until I have fully evaluated them. This could be a month or so.

So enjoy the sneaky look. Iā€™ll contact people when I know more.

Heaven is a room full of baby Burmese šŸ©· 4 weeks old, oh so precious. Sunni is such a fantastic mother. She eats four meals a day to keep up her milk supply with seven babies to feed. Her favourite is rotisserie chicken. Weā€™re going through one every two days! The tiniest baby has started on solid food, so hopefully he catches up soon.

Maple is trialing the new calming collars from Gentle Paws Supplies. We will be introducing her to new kittens in the future, so Iā€™m prepping her to be a chilled out kitty when this happens.

Day one we just put it on her under supervision for short periods of time. She hated it, played meerkats, carried right on, and was generally sulky about the whole deal.

Day two was for a few hours (in between I put it in a ziplock bag to retain calmingness). Took it off at night and when I was out.

Day three, she doesnā€™t care anymore, accepts it fine, and is her normal self! We used a lot of play with teasers to engage her in the start. Now weā€™ll see if it is helpful with introductions in the next few months!
