A Letter from Boreas
Dear Future Human,
My name is Boreas. Yes, like the Greek god of the North Wind. Dramatic? Maybe. Accurate? Absolutely.
I am a three-year-old Husky x Malamute, which basically means I come with built-in fluff, strength, opinions, and the spirit of the Arctic running through my veins. Snow would be ideal. A couch will also suffice.
I need to be honest with you.
This pound life? It’s not for me. I’m not coping very well in here. I’m used to moving, thinking, doing. Standing still in a kennel with all the noise and stress is hard for a northern boy like me. I’m worried I might hurt myself trying to escape the chaos. I need out. Soon.
Now let’s talk about the good stuff.
I’m a sweet boy. Friendly. I get along well with other dogs. I’ve been found wandering, so my backstory is a bit of a mystery (I like to think I was on an epic quest), but what I do know is that I like company and I’m not here to cause trouble.
Kids? I’m not sure I haven’t been properly introduced. Older kids would probably be best while we get to know each other.
Cats? Also untested. I’ve never filled out that survey.
Being an Arctic breed mix means a few things you should know:
❄️ I’m intelligent which is wonderful and occasionally inconvenient.
❄️ I need exercise. A quick lap of the yard won’t cut it.
❄️ I need mental stimulation. Give me something to do and I will shine.
❄️ Secure fencing is not optional. We northern breeds are professional explorers.
We were bred to pull sleds across frozen landscapes. We thrive with structure, purpose, and humans who understand that independence doesn’t mean disobedience it just means we like to think about things first.
I don’t need perfection.
I just need someone steady. Someone who understands that behind the fluff and strength is a dog who wants direction and belonging.
If you have experience with working breeds, or you’re willing to learn, I promise I will meet you halfway. I will give you loyalty, presence, and probably a little dramatic flair when dinner is late.
Right now, I just need a door to open.
The North Wind is ready to come home.
With hopeful paws,
Boreas 🐾
