One thing I’ve learnt in over 26 years of working with dogs is that a good groom is about so much more than making a dog look nice.
At Paws2wash, every dog that comes through my door receives a thorough hands-on check from nose to tail. Grooming is often one of the few times someone carefully examines your dog’s entire body, and that’s something I take seriously.
I always check eyes, ears, skin, coat condition, lumps or bumps, teeth, nails, and especially those often-forgotten feet. The fur between the paw pads can quickly become overgrown, trapping dirt, moisture, grass seeds, and debris, which can cause discomfort and even affect the way your dog walks. That’s why I carefully trim between the pads and check for anything that shouldn’t be there.
Nail care is just as important. Long nails can alter a dog’s posture, place extra strain on joints, and cause unnecessary discomfort. If they need trimming, they’ll be trimmed.
For me, grooming isn’t just a haircut. It’s part of caring for your dog’s overall health, comfort, and wellbeing.
As a groomer with more than 26 years of experience, I feel privileged every day to help dogs look their best, feel their best, and stay healthy.
Your dog’s comfort will always come before a perfect haircut, and their wellbeing will always be my priority.
