FnS is going EFTPOS FREE in 2027. 💳✌️

You may have seen the stories, and text messages are now going out to our clients.

More & more rules are being made, control is being removed from business owners, and the struggle to not only survive but actually thrive as a small business is becoming increasingly difficult.

So… we aren't playing that game anymore. 💅

As businesses are now being told they can't have an EFTPOS surcharge, the alternative is to simply increase prices at the same time as EFTPOS fees continue to increase.

No thank you.

We are eliminating that altogether.

Moving forward, from 2027, FnS is going card free — and you're more than welcome to start from your next groom. 💗

Businesses are not only expected to wear these costs — or pass them on to consumers — but the ATO is now saying you can't make certain payments to them through credit cards. For some businesses, having access to credit may be an important backup plan when cash flow is tight.

And did you know we also have to pay towards future BAS at the same time as paying our current BAS?

It may help in the long run, but when you're looking at the day-to-day reality of running a small business, it's still another cost that needs to be accounted for right now.

The day-to-day costs of running a business are increasing.

So rather than continually increasing our prices to cover every additional expense, we would rather keep things less costly for us AND for you.

From 2027, our payment options will be:

📱 Possibly PayID — we're looking into this one

We're simply choosing to take back some control where we can.

✨ Less unnecessary expense for FnS.
✨ Less reason to increase expenses for you.
✨ More of the money you spend supporting our small business stays with FnS.

Time to take back control where we can. 💗💅

Your dog looks extra fluffy… but what’s creating all that fluff? 👀🪮

A full, fluffy double coat is beautiful, but a coat looking bigger, thicker and fuller doesn’t always mean it’s in good condition.

Sometimes, that extra fullness is coming from dead coat that hasn’t been removed, matting or compacted undercoat sitting within the coat.
This can make the coat feel thick, heavy, oily or sticky, reduce airflow through the coat and make it increasingly difficult to maintain.

That’s why it’s important to regularly get your hands into your dog’s coat and check what’s actually happening.

Double coats have layers. Lift and separate the top coat as you work, checking the condition of the undercoat and making sure your comb 🪮 is working through the entire coat rather than simply gliding over the surface.

Pay particular attention to areas that are commonly missed, including behind the ears, around the neck, chest, stomach and underneath the body, pants and tail.

Regular professional grooming is important, but maintaining your dog’s coat between appointments makes an enormous difference too.

So remember, a fuller, fluffier coat isn’t always a healthier coat. 👀

Get your hands into the coat, check what’s creating all that fluff and keep up with regular combing at home. 🪮💗

❤️ An Appreciation Post for Our Good Friend, Bonny the Border Collie ❤️

Our good friend Bonny really needs no introduction. A long-time friend of Fluff n Stuff and a long-time celebrity among her peers. 🥰

At 12 years old, Miss Bonny suffered a fibrocartilaginous embolism (FCE), sometimes described as a “spinal cord stroke.” Fibrocartilaginous material blocks blood flow to part of the spinal cord, causing sudden neurological symptoms.

Now, at almost 14.5 years old, Bonny has made an incredible recovery. ❤️
It was a long journey, and her human, Leonie, never gave up on her.

Looking at Bonny now, you would hardly know what she has been through. Of course, with age come new challenges. Bonny is now losing her hearing, but that certainly isn't slowing Miss Bonny down.

She's unstoppable.

Thankfully, Bonny and Leonie have a bond like no other. They have travelled Australia together, doing all the fun things, and they have always, always worked on Bonny's training.

Now that Bonny relies on her eyes more than ever, that lifelong training has become even more valuable. Because Bonny has been taught using multiple techniques and ways of communicating, even at almost 14.5 years old and with significant hearing loss, she still gets to participate, explore and enjoy all the joys life has to offer.

Bonny has always LOVED her grooming days. She loves a pampering just as much as she loves playing in the dirt. 😆

She has always been the perfect lady to groom.
Since her FCE a few years ago, not all of Bonny's grooms are “perfect” anymore.
They are perfect for Bonny on that day.

That took some adjusting, but we know Bonny will tell us what she can and can't handle. Fortunately, Zoe has been grooming Bonny for years, and their relationship is built on familiarity, communication and trust.

We listen to Bonny.

We adjust.

And we make sure grooming remains something she can enjoy for as long as she chooses to.
Some grooms really do hit you in the feels more than others. ❤️
