Miss Lily is an absolute favourite at the Prospect clinic. She visits semi-frequently due to some pesky ear infections that are common with her breed. But given her beautiful friendly nature, we're always so happy to see her bounding through the door 🤸‍♀️

We all had a good laugh as Lily's crazy hair at today's visit as she was scheduled to visit the groomer the following day! 💇‍♀️

World Bee Day 🐝

When poor Roxy's parents saw her in the yard have a sudden gag and then collapse the backyard, they rushed her straight into our Prospect clinic 🏃

At first, she appeared to be bright, alert and have a normal TPR (temperature, pulse and respiration). But within 5 minutes of being in clinic, poor Roxy broke out in a flurry of hives!

Her parents confirmed they had seen her snap at a bee in the backyard and it seems Roxy learnt the hard way that bees aren't to be nibbled at! 🐶

Dr Megan gave Roxy and antihistamine injection and within 30-60 minutes her swelling and itching subsided and she was back to her happy self.

These are all common things we hear from our clients when we see some of our golden oldie patients at their six monthly or yearly wellness checks.

Just like we don't expect to have to suffer the aches and pains of age without some medicinal support - neither do our furry friends! Many clients are surprised to hear that there are plenty of options when it comes to treating arthritis in our older loved ones.

Some signs of arthritis in our pets may be:
😕 Reluctance to walk, climb stairs, jump or play
😓 Limping/lameness
🏃‍♀️ Lagging behind on walks
😴 Difficulty rising from a rest position
😭 Yelping in pain when touched
🤬 A personality change (aggression)
👅 Licking of the affected joints

Albert Montgomery had the whole Prospect team swooning with his gorgeous big brown eyes! 🥹

He had come in for a wellness consult and his puppy vaccinations which is all included WellnessPlan. He was an incredibly brave boy for his injection - the treats certainly helped 😉

Now that Albert Montgomery is protected by his vaccinations, he's looking forward to exploring down at the beach 🏖😎

Bunji is a perfect example of how the right support can make boarding a positive and enjoyable experience 🐾

When Bunji first started staying with us at our Prospect boarding facility, he was very nervous of his new surroundings and displayed signs of fear and anxiety. Our clinical team noticed these behaviours straight away and stepped in to help Bunji feel more comfortable! After working closely with Bunji's mum, our veterinary team offered recommendations to help Bunji feel more comfortable during his stays.

The support provided to Bunji has made him much more relaxed and confident during his boarding stays. He loves exploring the facility, sniffing every corner, and keeping our team on their toes!

We're so proud of the progress Bunji has made and love seeing him feel safe and happy with us while mum's away.
