SHE sits there, knitting. Now that the days are getting cooler I sometimes condescend to sit on Her lap – if She disguises it with a fluffy rug. Mohair is my preference. It’s an interesting business, knitting. Each stitch is unique, and each stitch plays its part in holding the whole together. I spend time most days sitting in the garden, mewsing. I know I’m safe – my leash is firmly secured. Nobody disturbs my dreaming. Except the birds. ‘Cat! Cat! Cat!’ screams the Noisy Miner.
