Research is increasingly confirming what many pet lovers already know in their hearts: losing a beloved animal can hurt just as deeply as losing a family member. 🥺

In a study of nearly 1,000 adults, some people experienced intense longing and real difficulty returning to everyday life after their pet passed away.

For a long time, society has suggested that pet loss is something we should simply “move on” from. But the bond we share with our animals is profound. They are companions, comforters, and members of our family. When that bond is broken, the grief that follows is real, and it deserves to be acknowledged with kindness and understanding. 🐾💛
