Added Challenge

Qualifying for, and then traveling long distances required to compete at an IGP world championship is huge challenge. What could be more challenging? Doing so with your dog in season.

In season dogs do not get access to the field until the end of all the dogs, and then they must combine their 5-minute practice and their trial performance in the same hour. They follow this with protection phase 45 minutes later. In contrast, other competitors do only one phase per day and practice is before competition day. This was made even more difficult at the 2023 FMBB IGP World Championship with the sun having already set at dusk, which creates minimal lighting and no field lighting.

In this capture, Austria's Matthias Schögl and Piper von Nacheron taking it in stride. Sit in motion during obedience phase.
