Stray Dogs Center Dr Amirah William, a New Zealander who has lived in UAE since 2008, is the Founder of Stray Dogs Center. Dr Amirah is the only unpaid staff member (by choice).

🐶 “Every dog deserves a loving home!” She is a practicing Muslim, a wife, a mother of three adult children, five grandchildren, 23 dogs and lives at the shelter in a three room porta-cabin. From a government approved school principal, she took a leap of faith in 2017 to manage the shelter full-time due to it's rapid growth and the lack of finances to hire a manager. She lives a simple life with basic needs and is committed to a cause that is greater than herself. In all that she does, she is guided by the grace of Allah (swt), humanity, compassion and a love for dogs.

Meet Moose. A gorgeous, gentle young boy who has spent far too much of his life waiting for someone to notice him.

And we really, really want to change that. ❤️

Moose isn't the dog who pushes himself to the front of the queue for attention. He's the quieter one. The sweet, thoughtful boy who needs a little time to feel comfortable.

But please don't mistake quiet for having nothing to offer. 💕

There's a lovely young dog here who deserves as much love, attention, and opportunity as the confident, outgoing pups around him.

Moose is now 1 year old. And he's still waiting to experience what it means to have a home. 💔

A cosy bed. Gentle encouragement. Little adventures. A familiar face who's always happy to see him.

Instead, he's growing up in boarding.

And another happy ever after! 🧇💕
Sweet Waffles has found her forever home too!

Just like Pixie, Waffles was one of our little puppies waiting to be chosen. Cruelly abandoned by her first owners, she had huge separation issues and anxiety but the Bakshi family saw past the shyness and saw her beautiful heart. 🥹

She has now blossomed into a happy, loved family dog and is thriving in her new home with her big sister Pixie 🥰

From shelter kennel to sofa, from overlooked to so loved. 🏡✨
A huge thank you to her wonderful family, especially mummy Bina a huge support and friend to us! Thank you for giving Waffles the second chance she so deserved! 💖

She's affectionate, gentle, wonderful with other dogs and an absolute champion at sofa cuddles.

She's everything someone could wish for in a little companion 💔

Meet Poto, our beautiful Shih Tzu girl who has already spent far too much of her life waiting for love.

Rescued from a breeding farm, Poto deserves to spend the rest of her life being cherished. And honestly, whoever welcomes her into their home is going to be incredibly lucky. ❤️

💔 GIGI HAS NEVER KNOWN WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO CURL UP ON SOMEONE'S LAP AT THE END OF THE DAY.

And at just 9 months old, we think it's about time she did. 🥹❤️

Since being rescued, Gigi has spent her puppyhood in boarding. She's safe, she's cared for, but she's never experienced the simple comforts of being someone's much-loved dog.

No cosy evenings curled up with her person. No little spot on the sofa to call her own. No falling asleep knowing she's finally home. 💕

And the heartbreaking thing is, Gigi has SO much love to give.

She's a gentle, affectionate little girl who adores cuddles, loves other dogs and has the sweetest, calmest nature.

Ace is not getting noticed, and he needs someone to step up for him.

Someone who will understand that despite his bold, striking looks, he is actually quite shy and finds the world a little scary. Someone who will give him a quiet place to feel safe, a patient hand to guide his walks, and a peace he may have never known before.

Since he was surrendered a year ago, Ace has only had one chance at a foster. Sadly, they had a cat -which means we now know for sure that Ace is strictly a no-cat boy! 🐱❌

URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR BENNY!

We can't believe we're posting Benny again. This gorgeous boy just doesn't seem to be getting his lucky break, and we really need your help to find him the right home.

Last week, Benny was welcomed into a wonderful foster family who gave him so much love and a chance to enjoy family life again. But as anyone who knows Beagles will tell you, they come with a LOT of energy, and when Beagle energy meets toddler energy, things can get a little chaotic so now he is back in8 boarding.

Benny is almost two years old, 100% Beagle and approximately 0% interested in sitting still when there's something exciting happening!

He's a happy, affectionate, bouncy boy who absolutely adores people. He wants to be involved in everything, whether that's playing in the garden, heading out for an adventure or investigating every interesting smell within a five-mile radius.

And then there's his softer side. Once the adventures are over, Benny loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa for a cuddle. He's almost fully toilet trained, settles well at home and has so much love to give.

What Benny really needs now is an experienced dog owner who understands Beagles and their brilliant, busy brains. Someone who enjoys an active dog, can give him plenty of exercise, enrichment and play, and has the patience to continue his training.

He would be best suited to a home with older children who are happy to have a bouncy, enthusiastic playmate who doesn't always know when the game is over! Benny loves children, but his excitement and energy can be a little much for tiny humans.

Benny is about 2 years old, vaccinated, neutered and ready to bring a whole lot of love, laughter and slightly chaotic Beagle fun into someone's life.

We know the right family is out there for Benny. He has so much personality, so much affection and so much potential. He just needs someone who understands him and can give him the chance he deserves.

Please help us find Benny his lucky break.

🎉 HAPPY TAILS: THE SCARED PUP WHO FOUND HIS HEROES! 🏡🐾✨

Some rescue dogs steal the show at adoption days, and then there are the quiet ones. The ones who shrink into the back corner, trying to make themselves invisible because the world feels far too overwhelming. Week after week, people overlook them. 💔

But it takes a truly special heart to look past the fear and say: “That’s the one who needs us most.”

Bowie found those exact heroes in Nastassja and Fede! 💛 This sweet boy was chosen for the gentle soul hiding underneath his timid exterior, and his forever family shared this beautiful update:

💬 “Our first adoption in the UAE, and somehow, Bowie has already changed our world. 🤍🐾 We fell in love with this little soul from the moment we met him, and watching him slowly find his feet and settle into his new life has been the most beautiful journey. He’s getting more and more curious and we’re so grateful to be part of his story. Our lives are forever changed, and our hearts are fuller because of him.
