🐶 “Every dog deserves a loving home!” She is a practicing Muslim, a wife, a mother of three adult children, five grandchildren, 23 dogs and lives at the shelter in a three room porta-cabin. From a government approved school principal, she took a leap of faith

in 2017 to manage the shelter full-time due to it's rapid growth and the lack of finances to hire a manager. She lives a simple life with basic needs and is committed to a cause that is greater than herself. In all that she does, she is guided by the grace of Allah (swt), humanity, compassion and a love for dogs.

LACEY HAS FOUND HER PACK 🎉
We are absolutely thrilled to share that Lacey she has officially been adopted by Anita and has a brand new name to go with her brand new life: meet Lexi!

Lexi got her very first chance at home life when our wonderful volunteer, Hannah, took her home to foster. Soon after, Anita spotted her, and it was love at first sight - she knew instantly that this clever girl was the missing piece of her pack.

A Note From Her New Family:
"Little Lexi has settled in amazingly with our other dogs and kitties! She is such a bright joyful little girl and loves her big (giant!) brother Salem best of all! They are very sweet together playing all the time!

She is a smart little girl and is a wonderful addition to our family! Thank you to Stray Dogs Center for your support during the trial adoption and for ensuring the adoption process was so smooth! Most of all for introducing us to our lovely girl ❤️❤️❤️"

From a shy puppy finding her footing to the absolute missing piece of a big, happy family, Lexi’s journey is a beautiful reminder of what happens when a rescue girl finds her perfect match.

WILMA NEEDS A FOSTER HOME 🐕

Wilma is one of those dogs who makes life feel warmer 💛

She wakes up happy, loves being around people, and finds excitement in the simplest things, whether it’s a walk, a run, a puzzle toy, a piece of watermelon 🍉, or a tennis ball 🎾 (which usually has a very short life expectancy 😅).

At 4 years old, Wilma is playful, affectionate, clever, and wonderfully full of personality. She’s fully house trained, settles beautifully into routines, doesn’t bark unnecessarily, and is very easy to train thanks to her love of treats and human attention.

She’s always happy to head out for a walk and also makes a brilliant jogging companion 🐾

Wilma enjoys enrichment games, learns quickly, and genuinely just loves being included in everyday life. Whether you’re out exploring or relaxing at home, she’s happiest simply being near her people.

Wilma would do best in a home without cats. Another dog would be lovely, if they are properly introduced.

She’s such a lovely companion and so ready to trade life in boarding to a home.

Meet Handsome Hank 🐶, At 4 months old, this dude is already a ball of fun ❤️

He is thriving in his foster home, and is the apple of his foster mummys eye 👁

A typical puppy, but a clever one, he is hitting those p*e breaks outside 99% now 😇 He just needs a home with a patience and understanding like we ask for all puppies ☺️ He sleeps through the night and is absolutely no bother! Handsome Hank is a total sweetheart 💕

He is a happy and confident puppy 😊 who adores being around people and other dogs 🐕 😊 He's now in foster with his litter and resident doggies 😇

Ziggy's surgery was a success. ❤️

After being shot with a pellet gun, Ziggy underwent delicate surgery to remove the pellet that was lodged near his throat. Thanks to the skill and care of the veterinary team, the pellet was successfully removed and Ziggy is now recovering well.

While he still has a journey ahead of him, Ziggy is comfortable, receiving ongoing care, and showing encouraging signs of improvement.

Thank you to everyone who has followed his story and kept him in your thoughts. Every rescued dog deserves a chance, and Ziggy's second chance is now underway.

🐾Dusty update

Dusty's X-rays have confirmed a fracture of the T10 thoracic vertebra.

It is possible that Dusty was hit by a car. Unfortunately, this appears to be an old injury that has left him paralyzed in both back legs and unable to urinate on his own. His bladder continues to fill, but he has lost the reflex needed to empty it.

Dusty has been a urinary catheter to drain his bladder and his drag wounds are being treated.

Despite everything Dusty has endured, he remains gentle and determined. He is now receiving the care, comfort, and dignity he deserves 💜

Meet Tallulah, a beautiful 3 year young small-to-medium desert mix who recently raised a litter of adorable puppies like an absolute superstar 🐶🌟 Her mama duties are officially done… and now it’s finally her turn to be the baby for once 💕

One of Tallulah’s funniest little quirks? She is completely fascinated by mirrors 😂✨ She’ll stare at her reflection like she’s convinced she’s discovered another dimension… honestly, we think she believes she can time travel through them 🪞💫

Tallulah has spent her life taking care of others. Now she’s dreaming of:

🌈 Dinky Has Crossed the Rainbow Bridge

Despite the dedicated efforts of the team at Vets24, Dinky's injuries were simply too severe. Today, we had to say goodbye.

While our hearts are broken, there is one small comfort we hold onto. Dinky did not pass alone, afraid, or in pain. In his final moments, he was surrounded by people who cared, receiving the medical attention, comfort, and kindness he deserved.

We could not change what happened to him, but we could make sure that his last chapter was filled with compassion rather than suffering.

Run free, sweet Dinky. No more pain, no more fear. You were loved.

Thank you to everyone who kept Dinky in their thoughts and supported his care. Please keep the veterinary team and those who fought for him in your prayers today 🙏🙏🙏

Meet Casper a stunning almost 9 year-old Collie mix who was cruelly left at the vets! Abandoned by his owners. A cruel act, what did he do to deserve this?

He now needs a loving foster family to show this goofball that not all humans are bad!

We are looking for an active foster home for this amazing boy so that he can move out of boarding asap and continue his journey to the forever home he deserves..... truly forever!
