Think about what the average Dubai pet dog is exposed to over the course of a year:
‼️ Monthly flea and tick preventatives – many are systemic medications that circulate throughout their bloodstream.
‼️ Pesticides, lawn chemicals, and herbicides - absorbed through paws and skin on every walk. Dubai parks and green communities are regularly treated.
‼️ Indoor exposure - cleaning products, synthetic fragrances, air fresheners, furniture treatments. Dogs spend most of their time on the floor, breathing and absorbing what settles there.
‼️ Ultra-processed foods - many contain preservatives, synthetic additives, and pesticide residues from ingredients that are consumed day after day.
‼️ Repeated medications - every course of antibiotics, steroids, and NSAIDs adds to your dog’s cumulative chemical exposure.
Most of these exposures are not an acute problem on their own. The concern is the cumulative effect of living in this environment every single day, for years.
Many of these compounds have been linked to oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, endocrine disruption, or direct toxic effects. Some pesticides and herbicides have also been linked to an increased risk of certain cancers, particularly with long-term exposure.
And chronic inflammation doesn’t just affect the skin. It plays a role in the development and progression of many long-term diseases, including osteoarthritis and immune-mediated disorders.
➡️ This is why I see proactive liver and detox support as foundational wellness, not something you think about only when there’s a problem. It’s one of the simplest ways to invest in your dog’s long-term health.
