Etihad Airways has launched a special promotion for pets travelling in the cabin ✈️🐾

From 13 April to 31 May 2026, the pet transportation fee is only USD 400 per flight instead of the standard USD 1,500.

New Temporary Rules for Importing Pets into India

Due to the current situation in the Gulf region, the Government of India has introduced temporary changes to the rules for importing pets from the UAE.

The current procedure is as follows:
1. The pet must be microchipped.
2. Valid vaccinations are required.
For dogs — rabies vaccination, as well as DHPPi + Lepto.
For cats — rabies vaccination, as well as PCH vaccination.
3. At least 30 days must have passed since the vaccinations.
4. The owner must provide a declaration confirming that the pet has been living with them for at least one month.
5. An Import Permit for India is required before travel.
6. Before departure, the pet must obtain a veterinary health certificate.
7. Upon arrival in India, the pet will undergo a document check and a clinical examination by an Animal Quarantine and Certification Services (AQCS) officer at the airport.

Pets may arrive through the following airports in India:
Delhi
Mumbai
Bangalore
Chennai
Kolkata
Hyderabad

Important: these temporary rules have been introduced due to the current situation in the region. In the future, the standard import procedures may be reinstated.

Temporary Update on Pet Transportation from the UAE

At the moment, pets can still be exported from the UAE as cargo, including with FlyDubai and Etihad Airways. However, temporary conditions and restrictions are currently in place due to the situation in the region.

FlyDubai
At the moment, FlyDubai accepts pets for transportation as cargo under temporary conditions. The pet must travel accompanied by the owner on the same route. In other words, sending a pet alone, without the owner, is currently not possible.

Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways is also considering pets for transportation as cargo, but requests are reviewed selectively. The decision depends on the route, flight availability, the possibility of the pet’s safe departure, and the current airspace situation. A separate request must be sent to the airline for each case, after which Etihad will confirm whether transportation is possible for the specific destination.

Aeroflot Update — Final Flights from the UAE

Aeroflot will complete its final evacuation flights from the UAE on March 11. All flights between Russia and the UAE from March 12 through March 31 will be cancelled. Resumption will depend on the stabilization of the situation in the Persian region.

If your Aeroflot flight out of the UAE is cancelled (departing March 12–31), you have the following options:
— Full refund
— Free rebooking to flights March 10–11 (if seats are available)
— Free rebooking to flights from the UAE from April 1 through October 24, 2026 (please note: flights during this period are not guaranteed and will depend on the situation)

If your Aeroflot flight to the UAE is cancelled (departing before March 31), you have the following options:
— Full refund
— Free date change to flights from April 1 through October 24, 2026 on the same route and cabin class
— Route change with a fare difference (no exchange fee)

Aeroflot and tour operators are contacting passengers directly by phone and email.

Right now, the most realistic option is Emirates. They are operating flights to destinations worldwide, and pets can travel either as excess baggage or as cargo shipment.

Transportation of Pets on the UAE – Oman – EU Route

Good afternoon, dear friends.

We would like to draw your attention to an important point if you are considering transporting your pet via Oman with onward travel to the European Union.
At the moment, entering Oman with a pet does not require waiting 90 days from the date of the rabies antibody blood test. However, it is very important to note that Oman is considered a high-risk country for rabies by the European Union.

This means that if, after entering Oman, you plan to travel onward to an EU country, the European Union will require that 90 days have passed from the date of the rabies antibody blood sample collection.

In other words, even if your pet has already entered Oman, for further entry into the EU, at least 90 days must have passed since the blood was taken for the rabies antibody titre test.

At the same time, the United Arab Emirates is considered a low-risk country by the European Union. Therefore, if you are planning a route to Europe, the most correct and safest option would be to try to arrange a direct flight from Dubai to the EU, for example with Emirates, rather than first travelling to Oman and then flying onward to Europe.

This helps avoid additional requirements and possible complications when entering the European Union.

Where should you go to get your pet’s documents endorsed, and how is the UAE government veterinary control (MOCCAE) operating during these challenging times?

Here’s the update: government vets are gradually returning to their shifts — the bravest ones 😄

Dubai (DXB) — Dnata Cargo Terminal
At the moment, the government vet is working 24/7 (for now).

As we were informed, it is currently operating only by prior phone call / appointment.

Important:
— Operating hours and availability may change depending on the situation.
— Queues at the government vet control can take 3–4 hours.

To avoid long queues, we work using a group system:
we collect a “car” of pets for everyone who needs export documents, and we go together as one big and cheerful group to complete the endorsements.

For safety reasons and considering the current situation, we do not take owners with us. This approach saves a lot of time 🙏

And a little Plan B 😄
If both government vet control points temporarily stop operating, the only option may be to process things closer to the Oman border :D

Emirates has resumed accepting requests for pet transportation via their cargo service. This is great news — it usually means passenger flights are gradually returning to normal operations.

Important: at the moment, each booking still requires additional approval (high management approval) and confirmation that the flight will operate and will not be cancelled.

Conditions:
— There must be available space for your pet on the selected flight
— Emirates must confirm that the flight will operate and that clearance/corridor approval is granted for the route from Point A to Point B
— Once Emirates confirms everything, we will start preparing your pet for travel and coordinate the final details directly with Emirates

If you urgently need to fly with your pet and require assistance with cargo booking and shipment arrangements, please message us as soon as possible — we will do our best to take your case and support you quickly.

Please note: the airspace situation is still unstable, and flights with pets may be rescheduled or cancelled.

New Temporary Rules for Importing Pets into Oman

Due to the current situation in the Gulf countries, Omani authorities have introduced temporary changes to the rules for importing pets. The main change concerns the waiting period after the rabies titer test.

Previously, after the blood draw for titers, a 90-day waiting period was required — however, this rule has now been temporarily lifted.

The current procedure is as follows:
1. The pet must be microchipped.
2. A valid rabies vaccination is required, as well as vaccination against major infectious diseases.
3. At least 30 days must have passed since the rabies vaccination.
4. Next, a blood test for rabies titers (RNATT) must be conducted.
5. Once the titer results are received, the pet can be transported to Oman without the 90-day waiting period.

Important: the titer test may be done against any valid rabies vaccine. The key condition — the titer result is valid for 12 months from the date of the blood draw.

❕Please note that this change is a temporary measure introduced in connection with the current situation in the region. In the future, the standard 90-day waiting period may be reinstated.

An Import Permit is still required.
