Behind every “I’m fine,” there’s often more going on.

It’s been a heavy year for many of us — economic pressure, regional conflict, and the quiet weight of simply keeping up. A lot of people around us are carrying more than they let on.

Mental health isn’t only about crisis moments. It’s also the everyday weight — stress, grief, uncertainty — and whether we feel safe enough to talk about it.

It’s okay to not be okay.
Checking in on someone can mean more than you think.
Asking for help isn’t weakness.

If you’re struggling, please don’t carry it alone. And if you’re not, consider asking someone else how they’re really doing.

World Mental Health Day | 10 October 💚

Behind every animal we care for is a team of people who deserve care, too.

Veterinary work brings moments of joy, but also emergencies, difficult decisions and heartbreaking goodbyes. Vets and veterinary nurses can carry that emotional weight long after their shift ends.

In the RCVS’s 2024 UK surveys:
• 49% of vet respondents and 47% of veterinary nurse respondents identified stress as a leading professional challenge.
• 34% of vets and 39% of veterinary nurses reported harassment or bullying from clients in the previous 12 months.

These figures are a reminder to check in, listen and make support part of everyday working life.

A proper break. Help after a difficult case. A respectful conversation. A workplace where asking for support feels safe.

To our vets, nurses, receptionists, care assistants and wider veterinary community: your wellbeing matters. You deserve the same compassion you give so freely to others. 💚

One family, three pets, two different routes — all headed to the same new home. 🐾✈️

Meet Freddie and Daisy, who flew direct from Dubai to Manchester, and Frankie, their Scottish Fold sibling, who took the DXB–DOH–MAN route due to her breed. Different pets, different paperwork, different flight paths — but the same amount of care went into getting each of them home safely.

Relocating multiple pets at once (especially when breed restrictions come into play) takes careful planning, but that’s exactly what we’re here for.

Did you know pets get mammary tumors too? They’re one of the most common tumors in unspayed female cats and dogs — and just like in humans, early detection makes all the difference.

This month, while you’re checking yourself, take a moment to check your pet too. Feel along their belly for any lumps or swelling, and if something feels off, don’t wait it out.
