PARVO!
Let's spread the word about the outbreak of Parvovirus.
We are sure you are all very much aware that Parvo is around more than ever, and it's not only puppies but apparently vaccinated older dogs are coming down with it, which is devastating to our dogs, owners and the vets who are treating them.
So how can we help do our bit as owners while our vets are investigating? Ask your Veterinary Clinic to carry out a ""vaccination titre test"" which measures the antibody levels in dogs for Parvovirus, Distemper and Infectious Hepatitis to determine protective immunity, and prevent consequences associated with over/under vaccination.
It entails a small blood test and you will have the results within 24 hrs.
It's about spreading the word to prevent dogs coming down with this horrible (& very preventable disease).
We are aware (TVH) The Veterinary Hospital on Al Wasl Road, Umm Al Sheif are offering the test, with an option to see a vet or a nurse and the vet will call with the results within 24hrs.
