How fast time flies! 🥹

Leo was just a little puppy when he first visited us, and now he’s already a handsome little teenager. 🤍

Today, Leo tested positive for canine coronavirus, which commonly affects the gastrointestinal system and can cause diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and dehydration.

And an important clarification: canine coronavirus is NOT COVID-19. It is a different virus and is not the same coronavirus that causes COVID-19 in people.

Leo is receiving supportive treatment and close monitoring to help his body recover.

We love watching our patients grow and being part of their journey. From their very first puppy check-up through adulthood and into their senior years, OC Pets Veterinary Clinic is here for every stage and every age of your pet’s life.

Tick & flea protection is important in Dubai.

Ticks and fleas are present in the UAE, so year-round prevention is strongly recommended.

At our clinic, we prefer Bravecto injectable protection, which provides continuous protection against ticks and fleas for up to 1 full year.

One injection = long-lasting protection and no need to remember monthly treatments. ❤️

Check-up time for our beautiful Full Paws family

Two little ones came to visit us today for their routine check-up. 🩺✨
And for one of them, it was also time for deworming and vaccination

Regular check-ups and staying on schedule with preventive care are an important part of keeping our little family members healthy, happy, and protected. 🤍

The health journey of our little ones starts from their very first deworming.

Deworming is so important because puppies and kittens can carry intestinal parasites from a very young age. Protecting them early helps support healthy growth, digestion, and overall development.

Then we continue with the next important steps of protection their vaccinations.

We are always so happy to see responsible families who understand that prevention starts from the very beginning.

Love them. Care for them. Protect them. Respect them. ❤️
They are our little family members and our best friends.

“Why do we sometimes postpone a cat’s spay?”

Sometimes owners are surprised when we say, “Not today we need to wait a little.”

There are two situations we see quite often.

First your cat is in heat.

Technically, spaying during heat is possible. But during this period, the reproductive organs and surrounding tissues have an increased blood supply.

That can make the surgery more complicated and can increase the risk of bleeding.

For an elective procedure, if there is no medical reason to operate immediately, we may recommend waiting until the heat cycle is finished and the tissues have returned closer to their normal state.

Second your cat is still in the middle of her vaccination course.

Spaying is an elective surgery, so we want to choose the safest and most appropriate time.

Before surgery, we want your cat to be clinically healthy, properly prepared, and to have had enough time to respond to her vaccinations.

We also prefer not to unnecessarily combine vaccination and surgery too closely together. If your cat feels unwell afterwards, we want to be able to understand whether it is related to the vaccine, anesthesia, medication, or the surgery itself.

That’s why sometimes when you come to us asking for spaying, we may tell you to wait.

It’s not because we don’t want to do the procedure.

It’s because choosing the right time is part of doing the procedure safely. ❤️

At OC Pets Veterinary Clinic, every elective surgery starts with assessing the individual patient not simply booking the first available surgery date.

If you notice blood in your pet’s stool, don’t ignore it.

Your pet should be checked by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

There can be many different causes. In Yumi’s case, the problem was related to deworming, but blood in the stool can also be a sign of more serious gastrointestinal problems.

The important thing is not to guess the reason at home. A veterinary examination can help identify the cause and start the right treatment if needed.

Early attention can make a big difference.

One of the best parts of working in our clinic is meeting responsible pet owners who truly love, protect, and want the very best life for their pets. 🤍

Seeing how much you care means a lot to us.

Thank you for trusting our clinic and our medical team with those who mean so much to you.

We are always very careful and thorough with every patient’s check-up before any surgery. Before proceeding, our veterinary team carefully evaluates the pet’s overall condition and makes sure they are ready for anesthesia and the procedure.

Pre-surgical checks are an important part of our protocol we never want to rush or perform a procedure just for the sake of doing it. If we see anything that requires further investigation, we address it first.

For us, surgery starts long before entering the operating room. Proper preparation, careful assessment, safety during anesthesia, and attentive recovery are all equally important parts of taking care of our patients.

Responsible pet owners always make the right decisions for their puppies and start their new life with a proper health and protection protocol. 🤍

These little paws are starting their journey with their first puppy deworming and the first full medical check-up of their life.

In 3 weeks, we will see them again to continue their protection protocol with their first vaccinations.

A healthy future starts with the right care from the very beginning. 🤍

We always follow up on our patients, whether the concern is big or small.

At OC Pets, we’ve created an organic system of care where every part of our facility works together — from diagnostics and treatment to recovery and follow-up.

Our work doesn’t stop when the pet leaves the clinic. We stay connected with our clients, check on their pets’ progress, and focus on their long-term health, comfort, and overall well-being.

And this is something that will never change. It is part of our clinic policy and one of the core principles of OC Pets Veterinary.
