PSA for all our clients using Rogaine or any minoxidil-based product.
I see this in so many of the homes we visit, and I really want to highlight how dangerous it is, because I don’t think most people realise it.
CATS: Minoxidil is fatally toxic to cats. There is no safe dose. Even a tiny residue on your hands, your clothes, or a pillowcase is enough to kill them. Symptoms include lethargy, difficulty breathing, and heart failure. If you suspect exposure, get to a vet immediately.
DOGS: Also toxic, but risk depends on the amount ingested. Any exposure should still be treated as an emergency. Do not wait for symptoms.
Please wash your hands thoroughly after every application and store it completely out of reach of your pets.
