Our furry friends are experts at hiding discomfort, so the signs of pain can be easy to miss. Watch out for changes like limping, hiding, eating less, trouble getting up, excessive licking, unusual aggression, or simply acting “not quite themselves.”

A small change in behaviour can be their way of saying something hurts, so don’t ignore the signs. Early attention can help keep them more comfortable and prevent the problem from getting worse.

August is Itchy Pet Awareness Month!

Is your pet scratching, licking, or biting their skin more than usual? An occasional itch is normal, but frequent scratching can be their way of telling you something isn’t quite right. 💛

Itchy skin can have many causes, including fleas and ticks, allergies, skin infections, ear problems, or environmental irritants. You may also notice redness, hair loss, irritated skin, excessive paw licking, or frequent head shaking.

This month, take a little extra time to notice the signs. If the itching keeps coming back or your pet seems uncomfortable, a veterinary check-up can help identify the cause and find the right treatment to bring them some much-needed relief. 🐶🐱
