🐾 A New Chapter for Cats of Reem Island 🐾
This is a post we’ve been putting off writing for quite some time, as Cats of Reem Island has been such a huge part of our lives and our hearts.
After much thought, we have decided that the time has come for us to step back from actively running Cats of Reem Island and hand the page over to two people we trust completely: David and Ruo Xin.
Over the years, David and Ruo Xin have adopted two cats of their own, fostered cats and kittens, and opened their heart and home to some of the most vulnerable and helpless animals in need.
They do a brilliant job of managing and supporting multiple feeding areas, with a big focus on TNR.
Their compassion, commitment, and genuine love for cats make them the perfect pair to continue this page’s mission.
We want to take this opportunity to thank every single person who has supported Cats of Reem Island throughout the years. Whether you’ve donated, fostered, adopted, shared a post, transported a cat, offered advice, or simply sent words of encouragement when things felt overwhelming - thank you. And a HUGE thank you to the kind vet practices and staff who have supported us with every single case.
Every act of kindness has made a difference, and together we’ve helped so many cats find safety, care, and loving homes. ❤️
While we will no longer be involved in active rescuing or managing this page, our love for the street cats of the UAE remains unchanged. We will continue to support their welfare in our own way and will always cheer on those working tirelessly on the front lines of rescue.
This page was never just about us - it was built by a community of people who care deeply about the welfare of street cats, and we will be forever grateful for that.
Please join us in welcoming David and Ruo Xin as the new caretakers of Cats of Reem Island. We know the page is in wonderful hands, and we’re excited to see what the future holds.
Thank you all for being part of this incredible journey and most importantly, for caring about the cats. 🐱🐾
With gratitude,
Aisha and Tayla
