Bring Your Dog to Work Day?

The team was delighted to have a very special visitor join us for the day this week…. Dr. Helen’s beautiful dog, Spug. As a regular visitor to the clinic, (she even helps students learn our Fear Free techniques!) Spug is always a welcome addition, but this time she even joined us for clinical rounds (and took her role very seriously!).

While we did our best to stay focused, we can’t promise there weren’t a few extra smiles, cuddles, and that rounds took a little longer than usual ☺️

Dogs like Spug remind us of one of the best parts of veterinary medicine: the joy animals bring not only to their families but also to the people who care for them every day.

As Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month Comes to a Close… 💙

While May may be dedicated to celebrating veterinary nurses, the truth is that we are grateful for ours every single day.

Behind every carefully placed catheter, every patient monitored through the night, and every worried pet parent comforted during a difficult moment, there is a veterinary nurse making a difference.

Our nurses are the heart of our hospital. They are compassionate advocates for every patient, dedicated teammates, and the steady hands that help pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for when they need it most.

Their work often happens quietly behind the scenes, but its impact is felt every day - in every recovery, and every family reunited with a beloved pet.

To our incredible nursing team: thank you for your kindness, your expertise, your patience, and your unwavering commitment to the animals entrusted to our care. We see the extra mile you go, the love you pour into your work, and the difference you make every day.

We are so proud to have you all!

Please join us in celebrating and thanking our wonderful veterinary nurses—not just this month, but every day of the year.

Rosie update !
Three weeks ago, little Rosie came to us in constant pain.

At just 2 kg fully grown, this tiny girl had already endured so much — crying out in pain from a rare condition called atlantoaxial instability, where the first two vertebrae in the neck are unstable and can place dangerous pressure on the spinal cord.

Today, we are beyond happy to share a very different update. 💛

Rosie is now three weeks post-op, her stitches are out, and she is pain-free, active, vocal, and enjoying life in a way she never could before.

This marks only the second case of atlantoaxial instability we have treated at the clinic — and the second successful surgery performed by Dr. Sergio using an innovative dorsal suture stabilization technique.

For a cat as tiny and unique as Rosie, every detail mattered. Seeing her now, comfortable and full of personality, reminds us exactly why we do what we do.

Rosie will soon be heading to Switzerland to spend the summer with her wonderful family, whose love, trust, and dedication throughout this journey have been nothing short of incredible. She is truly a very lucky little cat.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your story, Rosie. We could not be happier for you. 🐾

We LOVE learning!🙌🏻🩺

We’re incredibly proud that Dr. Caroline was selected as one of only a small number of veterinarians invited to attend an exclusive dermatology CPD event in Dubai today. A fantastic opportunity to learn from a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology and deepen her expertise in diagnosing and managing skin disease in pets.

With the warmer months approaching, we often see an increase in allergies, itching, ear infections, hot spots, and other skin flare-ups — making this knowledge especially valuable for helping our patients stay comfortable through the summer season. ☀️🐾

A huge thank you to St. Vincent Group (SVG) for the invitation and for supporting continued veterinary education. We love being part of a profession that is always evolving, growing, and striving for better patient care. 💙

🎉 18 Years of German Veterinary Clinic 🎉

This weekend, we celebrated a milestone that feels both surreal and deeply meaningful… our 18th birthday.Officially “all grown up” 😻

Over the past 18 years, so much has changed. We’ve grown, evolved, expanded our knowledge, and continued pushing the boundaries of what veterinary care can and should look like.

Today, we are proud to be:
✨ The first and only Fear Free certified clinic in the Middle East
✨ The first Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic in the Middle East
✨ The first and only Zero Pain Philosophy clinic in the Middle East

But while many things have evolved, the heart behind German Veterinary Clinic has never changed.

18 years ago, Dr. Katrin had a vision for a clinic built on compassion, excellence, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is best for animals — every single time.

That vision still guides us today.

Behind every consultation, surgery, late night, difficult case, comforting cuddle, gentle touch, and happy recovery is a team that genuinely gives their all for the animals entrusted to them. Because we truly believe animals deserve the very best from us. Always.

To every client who has trusted us, supported us, and grown with us over the years — thank you for being part of this journey.

And to our incredible team, past and present, thank you for carrying these values forward every day.

Here’s to 18 years of care, compassion, innovation, and advocating for animals — and to many more to come. 💙💙💙

Sometimes the best medicine is simply being together 🤍

This is Uma, currently receiving treatment with us alongside her incredible owner, who share’s such a special bond with her. One of the most rewarding parts of open concept care approach is being able to support pets while keeping them close to the people who make them feel safest.

Whether it’s answering emails, working remotely, or simply sitting quietly beside them, allowing owners to remain present during treatment can help reduce stress, provide comfort, and contribute to better outcomes for our patients.

Treatment plans should always be supportive, and connected — for both pets and the people who love them.

Meet little Rosie 💛

Just one week ago, Rosie underwent a major surgery with our own neurosurgeon, Dr. Sergio, after suffering from a rare condition called atlantoaxial instability — a painful condition affecting the first two vertebrae in the neck, which can cause severe pain, weakness, and even difficulty walking.

Before surgery, Rosie had to wear a neck brace 24/7 just to stay comfortable. Seeing such a young kitty living with that level of discomfort was heartbreaking.

Using a unique stabilization technique, Dr. Sergio was able to successfully stabilise Rosie’s neck, giving her the chance at a safer, more comfortable, pain-free future.

There is still recovery ahead, but today gave us all goosebumps…

Rosie walked out of her carrier on her own and immediately started rolling around the floor, purring and soaking up attention — happy, relaxed, and finally comfortable. 🥹

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.

Rosie also has the most loving and dedicated owner, who has been by her side every step of the way, and we truly adore them both.

We cannot wait to continue watching Rosie heal, grow stronger, and enjoy the beautiful new chapter ahead of her — free from pain. 🐾

Today we celebrate one of the true hearts of our clinic — our wonderful Ate Tamy 💛

For years, Tamy has been a constant ray of sunshine within our team, bringing kindness, warmth, and care into every corner of the clinic. From lovingly caring for our patients and paying special attention to our boarders, to quietly looking after each member of the team like a true clinic mom, she makes our hospital feel like home every single day.

No matter how busy the day gets, she always greets everyone with a smile, a gentle word, and the kind of positivity that lifts the whole team.

Ate Tamy, thank you for everything you do behind the scenes and for the love you pour into our clinic family. We are so lucky to have you with us, and our patients, clients, and team are better because of you.

Happy Birthday to someone so deeply appreciated and loved 🎂🐾💐
