Two seniors. One flight. A whole lot of love. 🤍✈️

Shah and Fedda have officially landed in Germany, flying together with the incredible Coco as their flight buddy — someone who has been an unwavering support to House of Hounds time and time again. Thank you, Coco, for getting these two safely to their new life.

And can we just say — these two checked in like royalty. Business class for a senior Saluki duo? They’ve officially arrived, in every sense of the word. 😄🐾

This journey wasn’t a short one, and it took an entire team to get here:

🩺 Dr. AJ and his team at BVC, for their unwavering effort keeping Shah and Fedda in the best possible shape — including the complex surgery that gave Fedda her second chance at walking pain-free.

Meet Safeer. 🐾🤍

Safeer is one of Henna's pups and Tayf's sibling — currently weighing 6.7 kg and growing stronger every day. He took his first vaccine shot on July 27th and is due for his second round soon.

He's been thriving in foster care, but like his siblings, Safeer is still looking for his own forever home to call his own.

Saeed’s surgery didn’t go the way anyone hoped — but it went the way it needed to. 🤍

The operation was performed by Dr. AJ, one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the UAE, and it was far more complex than expected. Saeed’s leg had been broken for so long that the bone had fused incorrectly — hardened, deformed, and badly misaligned. Dr. AJ had to carefully cut through the old fusion, clean around it, and cut even further as the true extent of the damage became clear.

For over 1.5 hours, he tried everything — every technique, every angle — to reconnect the bones and secure them with a plate. But the bones simply would not move or align.

Eventually, Dr. AJ made the hardest call: repair was impossible, and amputation was the only humane option left. Even after the amputation, he kept trying to bring the remaining bones together — they still wouldn’t move. He gave Saeed everything he had.

Saeed is now resting at the clinic, finally free of the pain he’d been carrying for so long, and adjusting with more courage than we could have asked for — as a tripod, but whole in every way that matters.

We trust Dr. AJ completely. He would never choose amputation unless it truly was the only way to give Saeed a pain-free life.

One year ago today, Kohl got his miracle. 🤍🐾

This boy shouldn’t have been able to walk again. He was paralyzed — and yet here he is, one year later, up and running, happy, and utterly loved.

Some rescues test your hope. Kohl tested ours in the best way — because against everything the odds said, he fought his way back. And on the other side of that fight was a family waiting to catch him.

Patrick and his incredibly kind-hearted wife in Germany didn’t just adopt a hound who needed extra care. They gave Kohl a life he was once never expected to have — full of love, full of movement, full of joy.

Friday marked one year since Kohl’s Gotcha Day, and his family celebrated him the way this miracle boy deserves.

This gentle fighter — who underwent a long, complex orthopedic surgery to repair an old, untreated leg fracture — has come such a long way. From healing in a clinic cage with no one stepping forward, to thriving in her foster home, to now... this.
