There is a City of Kings Doggie program going on through the day at Hillside Dams with stalls …. So pop down earlier to browse around if you like, grab lunch or a snack 😁

Good evening all followers of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Parent Club of Zimbabwe. Thank you all very much for following us. I must emphasize that we are a club of lovers of our breed and we are the guardians of its history.

We are not a club that sells puppies, or allows breeders to advertise puppies for sale. We leave this entirely up to private breeders. If any followers use our site to advertise, or to attempt to sell on our site they will be removed from the group. Thank you all for loving the breed.

At the end of last month myself and Dr Charles Waghorn were fortunate to attend the Rhodesian Ridgeback World Congress in Prague, Czech Republic. Extremely helpful sponsors and our own membership enabled us to make this historic trip - we have not been for many years. As the parent club and home of our beautiful breed we were received with great warmth and much interest. We were able to give short historical perspective on how we started the breed that, coupled with a captivating video, made us a lot of new friends. Of great interest to us was the wonderful attention to detail in Europe and beyond of almost every facet of the Rhodesian Ridgeback, from genetics to health to breeding data bases. Wonderfully organized and thank you the Czech Rhodesian Ridgeback Club. This was followed by 2 days of a very professional show with some 225 Ridgebacks, almost all of which were stunning. With many of the old lines still here in Zimbabwe this was very interesting. We look forward to Switzerland in 4 years time and thank you one and all. On Saturday, as seen by the recent lovely videos, we gave an update to our membership on the trip, and had a great fun and training day at the same time.
