Capetonians Against Animal Abuse - CAAA Capetonians Against Animal Abuse (CAAA) is a volunteer based, non-profit rescue group with a mission of helping animals discarded by society.

Our main focus are kittens and feral cats. We do TNR (Trap, Neuter Release) and Feed our existing colonies in CT. We currently look after 430 feral cats with our prime objective being to trap, test, sterilize and release with feeding programmes in place. We also rescue and adopt out. Being a foster based rescue group, we can only save what we have foster homes for. We are always in need of people

Santa Cause for Paws is back!! Please help us to get all our kitties sponsored. Santa Cause is a huge support and lifesaver to organisations like ours. To sponsor a kitty all you have to do is look through the album and write "sponsor" in the comments of the kitty's photo you wish to sponsor. To sponsor a kitty only costs R250.

Santa Cause will then be in touch with you to sort out payment and they buy all the gifts from our wishlist, wrap and write out a card with your name on. So our kitties get your lovely presents and know exactly who sponsored them.

Ty was born at a shopping centre and survived living in the drains before being rescued. Despite his tough start, he is incredibly loving, affectionate, and full of life.

These are the foster stories from mother & daughter team Sonia & Megan: 🐈‍⬛🐈🐾

Meg and I have been fostering Feral Kittens for approximately seven years with the help of the amazing rescue organisation CAAA.

I work in the industrial area of Wetton and on occasion see feral cats and kittens around the factory looking for food. That’s where my relationship started with rescuing feral cats and kittens. We have TNR (trapped, neutered and released) hundreds of cats. Returning the adults back to their colony (making sure a feeding program is in place) and keeping the kittens and taming them.
The kittens go up for adoption when they are ready. There have been so many special moments with these kittens and it’s wonderful to see them finally realise that they’re safe and don’t have to be afraid anymore.

But there have also been a few terrible cases that broke my heart. There was a ginger kitten that was covered in tar - someone hand thrown hot tar over his back and head. Another time a cat had fallen into a bucket of glue. One occasion an unneuted male was so severely injured by the other male feral cats (males usually fight to protect their territory) he was completely shut down and could hardly move. All these cats mentioned above were nursed back to health with loads of love and determination and patience. They were all adopted to wonderful homes.
It's always sad to see them go, but we know that fostering made it possible for these kitties to find a loving home.
Fostering is the only life line for many kitties. Please consider becoming a long term foster mom or dad, you will make such a huge difference.
