With donations almost non-existent at the moment, we are really struggling to keep up with feeding all of the animals in our care.

To help make ends meet, I’ve started making homemade breakfasts for the cats (and some of the dogs too) to supplement their pellets. This week I bought chicken breast, chicken livers and pumpkin, cooked everything and blended it together — and I was actually pleasantly surprised by how much they loved it!

Normally breakfast would be Pampers Jelly, Husky, Pampers Saucy Mince and plain cooked chicken, but with costs becoming increasingly difficult to manage, I’m trying to create nutritious homemade meals for the kitties instead. Thankfully, the taste test was a huge success. 💝

Every donation, no matter how small, helps us put food into bowls and keep 161 animals fed, safe and cared for.

is safely back at the sanctuary, but what he really needs is a home of his own.

Seal has spent over two years waiting. Two years of watching people come and go. Two years of wondering where he belongs.

He is a soft, gentle boy with so much love to give. All Seal wants is a person to call his own.

Before coming into our care, Seal lived with people on the streets who loved him dearly. Contrary to what many believe, some people living on the streets care deeply for their animals and would do anything for them. Seal was one of those dogs. He was loved.

After being repeatedly attacked by other dogs, law enforcement became involved and there were concerns for his safety. His owners asked us to help him, and that is how Seal came into rescue.

Today, Seal has a large garden and a safe space of his own at the sanctuary, but he is confused. He sees us spending time with the other dogs and doesn’t understand why we’re not with him. What Seal misses most isn’t space. It’s belonging.

He needs a home where he can finally exhale, where he knows who his human is, and where he never has to wonder if he’s wanted.

Seal is looking for:

🐾 A home with no other animals
🐾 Secure walls of at least 1.8m
🐾 Someone home during the day, even if it’s a housekeeper
🐾 A family willing to give a loyal, loving dog the chance he deserves

Seal is currently based in Gordon’s Bay.

If you think you could be Seal’s person, please WhatsApp me on 082 823 7435 (no calls please).

To apply, send a short video of your property and let me know who is home during the day.

Please share. Somewhere out there is the person Seal has been waiting for all this time.

💔 WE HAVE NO FOOD at the Sanctuary 💔

The storm has hit, and conditions at the sanctuary are cold, wet and miserable.

We urgently need donations of dog food, cat food and blankets to help keep our animals fed, warm and safe.

With 161 animals in our care, (not all at the sanctuary) every bag of food makes a massive difference. Right now, we really need your help.

If you can assist, please WhatsApp me on 082 823 7435.

Alternatively, donations can be made to:

We cannot do this without your support. Thank you for helping us care for those who have nowhere else to go. ❤️🐾

PLEASE CONSIDER ADOPTING OUR BEAUTIFUL BOY, SAMMY. ❤️

Sammy spent the first eight years of his life on a chain. He was then moved to Vierthof Kennels in Somerset West for two months before coming back to the sanctuary, where he’s now been for another two months.

Unfortunately, Sammy has become completely obsessed with the cats. It has reached the point where it’s no longer healthy for either him or them. I don’t have another area available to move him to, and some of our long-term residents already occupy the larger camps and gardens. As much as I would love to keep every dog at the sanctuary, it’s simply not possible.

Sammy goes out into the big garden three times a day, but it borders the cat area and all he wants to do is get to the cats. Over the last two days he’s even lost interest in playing ball, something he previously loved. The fixation is taking over and we need to find him a home as soon as possible.

Sammy needs:
🐾 An only-dog home
🐾 No cats
🐾 Someone home during the day
🐾 A family willing to give him the love and attention he deserves

He is absolutely magnificent and deserves the most incredible chapter after everything he has been through.

There is NO adoption fee for Sammy. We simply need to know that you can provide good quality food and veterinary care. Full home checks and adoption agreements will still apply.

If you are able to foster him in the meantime, that would also be hugely appreciated.

Please help by sharing this post far and wide. Let’s get Sammy the happy ending he deserves.

CYRUS IS EVERYTHING YOU COULD WANT IN A DOG. ❤️

I went to meet this gorgeous little one-year-old pocket Pittie this evening, and he completely stole my heart.

Cyrus came running out to greet me, said hello to a few other dogs along the way, then happily wandered back inside again. He is incredibly social, gentle, affectionate, and just an all-round amazing little soul.

He currently lives with two other dogs and regularly interacts with many more, so he would happily fit into a home with existing dogs. He is fantastic with children, loves cuddles, and has the sweetest nature.

Cyrus does have a minor skin issue at the moment, but I honestly don’t think it’s anything that a little NexGard and some good quality food won’t sort out.

The family is unfortunately facing accommodation challenges, and rather than waiting until the last minute, we are proactively trying to find the very best homes for their three dogs individually.

✔️ Approximately 1 year old
✔️ Sterilised
✔️ Vaccinated twice (I will arrange his booster)
✔️ Will be microchipped before adoption
✔️ Excellent with other dogs
✔️ Great with children
✔️ Super social and affectionate
✔️ Loves cuddles

I already have a few applications for him, but I will be viewing all suitable homes and selecting the very best match for this special boy.

To apply, please WhatsApp me on 082 823 7435 (no calls please).

Please send:
📹 A video of your property
🐶 Information on any existing pets
💉 Their sterilisation and vaccination status
🛏️ Where Cyrus will sleep

He is currently in Gordon’s Bay and is ready to find the loving forever home he deserves. ❤️

EVER WANTED TO LOVE A DOG but you’re worried about the costs?

I would really love to start offering another option for some of our long-term kennel dogs — not just adoption, but long-term foster homes 💔

Some of our older babies like Tyson, Charlie, and others have now spent far too long sitting in kennels waiting for someone to choose them. Kennels are not homes, and after years of waiting, they deserve couches, gardens, love, and human companionship.

For the right homes, I would love to offer a retirement or long-term foster setup where I cover:
• Food
• Vet bills (through my specific vets)
• Ongoing support

Most of these dogs would need to be only pets, and they absolutely need to sleep inside as part of the family.

If you:
✨ Are home during the day, or have someone home during the day
✨ Have secure fencing and a safe property
✨ Are happy to allow home checks and occasional follow-ups
✨ Would love the companionship of a beautiful dog without the financial burden

…please reach out 💝

Let’s get these babies out of kennels and into the loving homes they truly deserve.

Please WhatsApp me — no calls please — on 082 823 7435.

💙 Meet – Our Beautiful Boy 💙

Thor is the most stunning, affectionate 3-year-old pit bull who has now spent far too long sitting in kennels after being surrendered by his family. He is sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped, healthy, and truly the gentlest soul.

When we reached out to his former family to see whether anyone would step up for him, the heartbreaking response was:
“No one wants the responsibility of a pet.” 💔

Keeping dogs in kennels long term is not rescue. Rescue is love, safety, a couch, a family, and belonging. Thor deserves all of that and more.

✨ About Thor:
• 3 years old
• Sterilized, vaccinated, and microchipped
• Beautiful, affectionate, and obsessed with cuddles
• Grew up with children and is wonderful with kids
• Must be the only pet
• Fearful of other dogs, so no introductions
• Must sleep inside as part of the family
• Loves to run, play, and be close to his humans

Thor doesn’t ask for much — just a safe home, a warm bed, and someone to love him unconditionally. He is such a loyal, gorgeous boy and will give that love back tenfold.

📍 He is currently in kennels near Cape Town and desperately needs out.

Please WhatsApp me on 082 823 7435 if you can offer our sweet boy the loving home he deserves 💝🐕💝

Charlie urgently needs a retirement home 💔

Charlie has spent the last two years sitting in kennels, waiting for someone to choose him. He deserves so much more than this.

We don’t know how much time Charlie has left. It may be six months, it may be a year, maybe longer — but what we do know is that he deserves to spend the rest of his life in a peaceful, loving home and not behind kennel walls.

Charlie is looking for a quiet retirement foster home with:
• A retired person or someone home during the day
• No other animals
• A calm environment where he can simply rest, feel safe, and finally belong

I am happy to sponsor his food and vet bills for the rest of his life if the right person is willing to open their heart and home to him.

Charlie is currently in Melkbosstrand.

If you can help this beautiful boy enjoy the comfort and love he has waited so long for, please WhatsApp me on 082 823 7435. No calls please.
