Why we remove bottom leaves:

1. Leaves touching or close to the damp soil easily catch fungal or bacterial diseases.
2. Clearing the bottom increases air circulation around the plant base.
3. The plant redirects its energy and nutrients into growing newer, larger, and healthier leaves at the center.
