Protect Puppies From Parvo
🚨 IMPORTANT MESSAGE 🚨
Parvo is not “just a puppy sickness.” It is a deadly, highly contagious VIRUS that can kill a puppy within days.
Every year, we see the heartbreaking consequences of puppies being left unvaccinated. Parvo attacks the intestinal system, causing severe vomiting, bloody diarrhoea, dehydration and extreme weakness. Puppies can deteriorate frighteningly quickly, and treatment is expensive, intensive and does not guarantee survival.
The most important thing every puppy owner needs to understand is this:
Your puppy is not fully protected after one vaccine.
Puppies require a series of vaccinations at the correct ages, followed by the appropriate boosters, because antibodies received from their mother can interfere with early vaccination. Your veterinarian will advise you on the correct schedule for your puppy.
Until your veterinarian confirms that your puppy is adequately protected:
❌ Do not take your puppy to public parks, dog parks or other areas where unvaccinated dogs may have been.
❌ Do not allow unknown or unvaccinated dogs to interact with your puppy.
❌ Do not assume that keeping your puppy away from obviously sick dogs is enough.
Parvo is incredibly hardy and can be carried into your home on contaminated shoes, clothing, objects and surfaces. You may never see the dog that left the virus behind.
Vaccination isn't an unnecessary expense. It is one of the most important investments you can make in your puppy's life.
And if your puppy develops vomiting, diarrhoea, bloody stool, refuses food, becomes unusually tired or seems suddenly unwell, do not wait and see. Contact a veterinarian immediately.
Every preventable Parvo death is one too many.
Vaccinate. Protect. Educate. Save lives. 🐾❤️
