Storm is still looking for his forever home. Luckily he is now in good foster care until he finds it.

He is a ~5year old neutered male medium to large Boerboel cross. He is very friendly and happy, and good with other dogs and cats. He is an active dog that will need a home with lots of space or daily walks, and he must sleep inside and be part of the family. He is family!

If you are interested in adopting Storm please contact us to apply by PM or whatsapp 076 265 8933.

Time is running out for Storm! He has been at the SPCA kennels at PADS costs for over 3 weeks receiving mange treatment and now needs to urgently find a foster home or face being surrendered to the SPCA. They don't have space and he won't have any more time...

This beautiful Boerboel cross who is a happy, loving dog, good with other dogs, cats and kids should be easy to home, but nobody has come forward to help him.

PADS will pay all costs for him to be fostered until we find his forever home.

Please DM if you can foster Storm or WhatsApp Anja on 0762658933

Please help us find a home for Storm!

This beautiful 5-6 year old blue-eyed boy has been admitted to the SPCA by PADS for mange and malnourishment treatment.

He was sterilised by PADS a few years ago and we've been keeping tabs on him. His very loving owner passed away a few weeks ago and he has been kept on a chain, underfed and mistreated since then, and has nowhere left to go.

He is not doing well in the kennels and is crying for the love and attention he is used to. All day and all night. We need to get him out of there!

Storm has a gentle and loving nature and is good with other dogs, cats and children. If you are able to foster Storm (at our cost) or even adopt him please contact us!

PROJECT PORT ALFRED PHASE 4 | DAY 3: and ANOTHER 62 yesterday (Wednesday). We love seeing the happy faces of pet owners with their sterilised pets!

This is an ongoing project with Dr Roos and NSP to get the pet population sterilised to a minimum of 70%, and the team on the ground is doing exceptional work towards this goal, despite the extreme weather.

24 cats and 38 dogs sterilised yesterday - THANK YOU Dr Roos, the team, volunteers and Uschi from CAT Garden Route.

RESPECT!

PADS recently gave a talk to the Kleinemonde Friendship Tea group about what we do and why it is so important for the animals in our community.

The ladies thanked us with a massive amount of dog and cat feed, dog beds, bowls, leashes and bedding. Thank you ladies!

If you would like us to give a presentation at your function please do get in touch!

A few weeks ago, our volunteer Karen found this little family in Nemato. Six tiny souls, no shelter, and a Mommy doing her absolute best in the dirt. 💔

Thanks to our incredible PADS donors, we were able to provide blankets and a bit of comfort immediately. But the township is a hard place for the vulnerable. Despite our best efforts, we lost two of these babies to the harsh conditions. 🌈

The good news? The cycle ends here.

Today, the remaining puppies have been surrendered and are off to the SPCA! This move is vital to protect them from the deadly Parvo virus that thrives in these environments. In about a week, they will be ready for their forever homes. 🏠✨

As for Mommy? Her days of struggling to raise litters in the dust are over. She is booked for her sterilisation in a few weeks through PADS.

How you can help:
Sterilisation is the only way to prevent more puppies from suffering. It costs us to fuel our rescue runs and fund these procedures.

From the streets of Thornhill to a forever home! 🏠✨

Our latest community outreach was a rollercoaster. From door-to-door education and de-fleaing to finding two souls who desperately needed a win.

These two were surrendered in a bad way—starving and struggling with mange—but they spent the weekend getting the best care at Kowie Vet.

The best part? Our incredible new volunteers, Mady and Hank, officially adopted them on Monday! This is why we do what we do.

PADS 2025 Report

PADS, headed by our incredible angel Shar, has been working in our community for years, but 2025 has been an incredible year.

🐾 By going door-to-door, we helped sign up 794 pets for the National Sterilisation Project. Combined with our ongoing weekly PADS sterilisations, making a major contribution to the goal of 80% of pets sterilised in our focus areas.

🏠 Launch of Kennels of Love: We provided sturdy, warm shelters and blankets to dogs who previously had no protection from the elements, donated by our amazing community members.

💪🏼 Outreach: Commitment is key! Several days every week, Shar and available volunteers are on the ground in Nemato and Station Hill—feeding, deworming, and treating animals for ticks and fleas.

🚨🛟🏥 Rescue & Response: We continued to answer the call for animals in crisis, rescuing dogs like Molly, Nana/Bix and Lady from abuse and neglect, and assisting starving dogs and even a tortoise in need.

Our 2026 Roadmap: Scaling our Dream

Now that the bulk of the population is sterilised, we are shifting from mass intervention to long-term community health and education:

📝 Formalising PADS: We aim to register as a Non-Profit Company (NPC) to formalise our organisation and unlock new fundraising opportunities.

⚖️ Maintaining Balance: We are committed to sterilising 5 pets per week to keep the population at a sustainable level.

💉 The Disease Fight: We are shifting our funding to include vaccinations to stop the heartbreaking outbreaks of Parvo and Rabies that cause endless suffering.

🐕‍🦺 🎓🐶 Community Education: We are starting plans for a free, force-free dog school for local children. Based on the Funda Nenja model, we want to teach leadership, empathy, and a new way to approach life through the bond of a dog.

How you can help:

We are looking for more volunteers to join our outreach and fundraising efforts.
