PADS 2025 Report
PADS, headed by our incredible angel Shar, has been working in our community for years, but 2025 has been an incredible year.
🐾 By going door-to-door, we helped sign up 794 pets for the National Sterilisation Project. Combined with our ongoing weekly PADS sterilisations, making a major contribution to the goal of 80% of pets sterilised in our focus areas.
🏠 Launch of Kennels of Love: We provided sturdy, warm shelters and blankets to dogs who previously had no protection from the elements, donated by our amazing community members.
💪🏼 Outreach: Commitment is key! Several days every week, Shar and available volunteers are on the ground in Nemato and Station Hill—feeding, deworming, and treating animals for ticks and fleas.
🚨🛟🏥 Rescue & Response: We continued to answer the call for animals in crisis, rescuing dogs like Molly, Nana/Bix and Lady from abuse and neglect, and assisting starving dogs and even a tortoise in need.
Our 2026 Roadmap: Scaling our Dream
Now that the bulk of the population is sterilised, we are shifting from mass intervention to long-term community health and education:
📝 Formalising PADS: We aim to register as a Non-Profit Company (NPC) to formalise our organisation and unlock new fundraising opportunities.
⚖️ Maintaining Balance: We are committed to sterilising 5 pets per week to keep the population at a sustainable level.
💉 The Disease Fight: We are shifting our funding to include vaccinations to stop the heartbreaking outbreaks of Parvo and Rabies that cause endless suffering.
🐕🦺 🎓🐶 Community Education: We are starting plans for a free, force-free dog school for local children. Based on the Funda Nenja model, we want to teach leadership, empathy, and a new way to approach life through the bond of a dog.
How you can help:
We are looking for more volunteers to join our outreach and fundraising efforts.
